Me_2006 14 Posted August 27, 2006 Hmm, so its PP reception and rush? I say you have to take the chance. Portis SHOULD be okay this year ( I have him too) and he'll have HUGE #'s if he's healthy. Having him and Brown, along with Peyton should win you the league. If something were to happen and Portis cant play, you should probably be okay with Mike Bell in Denver for the first few weeks of the season anyway. He should keep the job that long at least and put up good enough #'s to keep you in it while Portis sits. In all likelyhood though, Portis will play, Branch will be Brady's #1 guy, Volek ALWAYS throughs to Bennet, and you should be okay. Take the deal. Good luck. Just for thought though, what are the other guys WR's and RB's?
stallion60 0 Posted August 27, 2006 so u dont think that duckett hampers portis even if he is healthy? the reason y i dont wanna do the trade is because of that and also because chambers will have his best year ever, and parker is no1 on a run heavy team(and will now get goal line carries)
Me_2006 14 Posted August 27, 2006 I know they picked up Duckett, and I know Parker gets all the carries now in Steel-town, but Portis just has a dislocated shoulder and he should be fine. I mean, Roethlisberger had a freaking motorcycle wreck with no helmet and is ready to play. I know Portis takes more hits, but you get the point. Plus, I wouldnt worry much about Duckett, the Skins just got him because they saw Portis was hurt, werent comfortable with having Betts as the #1 guy, knew ATL was shopping him around, and could get him for a 3rd round pick. Its kinda like a handcuff in FF. No one actually EXPECTS Michael Turner to be a stud, and they arent gonna start him in normal circumstances, but they take him...just in case LT2 goes down. Its an insurance pickup, just covering their bases. Take Portis, Chambers could be big, but has he proven anything? He's a bigger ?than Portis really. In the end, its your call though...just my opinion, take it for what it's worth.
bcn111 0 Posted August 27, 2006 I would take the trade. Portis's rehab is ahead of schedule (supposedly), and even at less than 100%, Portis outscores FWP (and I'm a FWP owner). The majority of Portis's scores will be outside of 10 yards anyway, so I wouldn't really worry about Duckett. Only reservation is if Branch get traded (but I don't know why the Pats would let that happen), if Branch stays with the Pats, I think he puts up comparable numers to Chambers. patsfanjrb 0 Posted August 27, 2006 is there some way you could switch out d.jax for chambers. Jackson will not be productive even if he plays this year. He is going to be a total bust on your squad. insider source. Darrell Jackson (WR) SEA - Player Page | More News Seahawks WR's knee: "degenerative" From Seahawks insider Mike Sando's blog: "Darrell Jackson's knee does fall into the degenerative category from what I know about those types of injuries. He might be a candidate for arthritis and a shortened career. That's what I read upon researching the injury at the time of his first surgery." There you go. We've warned everybody here at DS over and over - while plugging Nate Burleson all the while - that Jackson's having trouble with that left knee. Yeah, he came back from the first surgery in October and played well in the postseason -- but we suspect it was all cortisone and adrenaline. Jackson had a second surgery this past April and hasn't done a lick since. Baseball cap, t-shirt, and shorts... We still see people taking him in the 4th/5th/6th round. Not smart. bushwood 1 Posted August 27, 2006 i wuold sit tight. chambers is in for a big year and with the uncertainty regarding portis, i dont (currently) see FWP as a significant step backwards. good luck

kore60 0 Posted August 27, 2006 I wouldn't do the trade- Portis is hurt- they got TJ Duckett for a reason- branch has got permisson to seek a trade http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=225048
Apu Nahasapeemapetilon 0 Posted August 27, 2006 I wouldn't do it. Chambers is a stud and FWP is pretty darn solid and on a good team that should score a good bit. Portis is a stud, but his injuries are scary and the Skins O is still questionable. Can you get Duckett on the WW? If so, maybe I pull the trigger. But I doubt TJ is there.
