The Riddler 0 Posted August 30, 2006 Was thinking of trading T Jones to the Benson owner who is really hurting in the RB department right now. I was just curious what people think Jones's value is right now, especially to a Benson owner. Here's what he's got right now as far as RB and WR: RB: Dom Davis, Benson, Henry, Duckett, Mike Anderson WR: CJ, Wayne, Givens, Bruce, Braylon Edwards, Lelie Sure wouldn't mind getting CJ but I'd probably need to offer more than Jones, right? How bout Wayne...would a straight 1-for-1 work for Reggie? Any input is appreciated and I'll take a look at yours. Thanks.
Me_2006 14 Posted August 30, 2006 I'm a total enemy of the Bears RBBC idea so I say get rid of Jones for whatever you can get from the guy. I'd have to see all of your roster to know what you should try and trade for, or anything like that, but I would get what I can, act like you're doing the guy a big favor by trading Jones, and see if you cant land CJ. I doubt he's THAT stupid, so say you'll "settle for" Wayne then and see if that one happens. If not, take what he's willing to give in return and be glad to be rid of the headache. Good luck thanks for the help on mine.

bgard72 10 Posted August 30, 2006 That guy NEEDS a starting RB bad. Thomas Jones should be the starter from what I hear (I'm in Chicago and a Bears homer). I would ask for Reggie Wayne instead...CJ is a bit too much. I would ask for Reggie Wayne for Thomas Jones....I think that's a fair deal, with a slight favor on your side! bunnerjk 0 Posted August 30, 2006 I don't think he'll give up CJ for T. Jones but he might give up Wayne, pull the trigger if you can!!!!!!
unclemercy 53 Posted August 30, 2006 hey, yo... who are your other backs? what's your situation at wideout? what are the league dynamics? jones upside is tremendous if bensen continues to prove problematic doesn't work for playing time or is injured.... i know they gave dude keys to the kingdom but lovie may change the locks and if you only need to use him as bye week filler or insurance for now be careful in swapping for a wideout that might only be a wash with what you have and get stuck not scoring from running backs. i'm considering something similar and am sharing my reservations... discuss? http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=226385
The Riddler 0 Posted August 31, 2006 hey, yo... who are your other backs? what's your situation at wideout? what are the league dynamics? I'll take the first part last. League is a 12 team, start 2 RB, 3 WR and a flex (WR or RB). .5 ppr, 6 pts for every TD and pretty standard yardage. My backs right now are Rudi, Foster, Fred Taylor, T Jones, Blaylock, Michael Bennett. My wideout situation is pretty good: Steve Smith, Harrison, Moulds, Bryant, Sammie Parker. I'm not convinced I'd even start Jones every week. I like Taylor this year (until he gets hurts). But I feel like I've got 4 potential starters (maybe 5 with Blaylock, but between Barlow and the Jets being horrible, I can't count him). So, I was thinking of sacrificing some depth to improve an already solid WR core. Here's the situation now. Offered T Jones for CJ straight up. Haven't heard back. But I got something else cooking that could get me LDT. For that to happen, I'd need to give up Rudi and either Smith or Harrison, and probably picks or something. So, if I could somehow get CJ (or settle for Wayne), then turn around and grab LDT, I think I'd be pretty set. At this point, I don't think I give up Jones for anything less than Wayne. What would seem fair for CJ though? T Jones and Moulds?? Thanks all, opinions are much appreciated as always.
unclemercy 53 Posted August 31, 2006 yeah, wow... too many considerations to feel like this is close to a complete answer. my biggest question is how you were able to pick up that squad when guy's looks like that. anyways... my feelings to stay put unless you can work a trade for tomlinson, cause that'd change everything. your team is so solid... with weakness being depth at wideout/flex, right? so potential upside is two clear cut one's, but with loss of depth... or consistancy with big potential i'd try and stay deep... that team's fragile
