I like the strategey, especially this year when there are so many questions at RB.. I have seen others do the same strategy. You get a stud RB and a stud WR.. then a solid RB in Warrick Dunn. RB2's are especially deep this year so you still get a solid #2 after you draft the Top WR. Plus in alot of drafts that will start a run on WR's which increases your chances of getting a high quallity #2RB

The RB RB standard should be up in the air this year. After the top 3 RB's what guarantees do you really have?

what drafts've you done... what spots and what did rounds one through four look like, i mean more position taken then otherwise

peace, man

second thoughts... maybe this post turns into that rather than the specific example i left. so, WHAT SPOT WHAT PLAYER POSITION AND QUICK LEAGUE OVERVIEW... hmm, rounds one thru what four, five, six? four at least. might turn out to be as helpful as anything else we'll leave or find here.

I think you needed to be more flexable. As soon as you drafted Dillion automatically you needed Maroney with your 7th pick, which means you needed a QB with your 6th.

I think its best to draft based on relitive value of players as opposed to sticking to drafting the best QB on the board for example. Lets say you get to your 7th pick and the guys in position 11 and 12 both already have a starting QB and there are 3 good ones left one the board? You know you will get 1 of the three, so at that point you draft another position and on the way back you grab your QB.

Staying flexable will allow you to have a much better draft. Just start with a ridgid structure and change based on value.

Without seeing the draft as it went it's impossible to critique what you did since there's no way to know who you could have had as other potential options. I did draft from the tenth spot in one of my leagues a week ago and I chose to take RB's in the third and fourth (C Taylor and Dunn) then took three receivers (Walker, Evans, Jones). I took my first QB (Bledsoe) in the eighth and the second one in the tenth (Plummer) while also taking my fourth back in the 9th and TE in the 11th, as you did.

Hard to say what's better over all. It looks like the difference is you have Dillon and Roy Williams and I have C Taylor and Lee Evans. I just feel more comfortable believing I can trust my third back as much as a #2 in case anything should happen.

I am a Portis owner, and I handcuff him in a 14-team league (30-man rosters).

If I had your team, I'd personally dump Duckett for Maroney or Norwood.

Prefer Maroney, unless the knee turns out to be bad.

Portis has the job, barring injury. Dillon and Dunn are simply placeholders, though Dunn has a less tenuous hold (until Norwood busts into a real game).

Great Draft  . I too, have the 10th/12, and I have been planning on doing a similar strategy (w/ a couple of differences). I will prolly have one of these 2 RBs fall to me (LaMont or Rudi), then in the 2nd I plan on taking either CJ or Holt. But I am also targeting Dunn & Dillon in the 3rd/5th, but in the 6th I will be looking for Heap. But pretty similar to yours. Its good to see someone with the same idea as you, but put in action. Good Luck !

Wow, ten QB's gone by the end of round 5 and an 11th to start round 6. You said it was standard scoring I think. Guys in your league take their QB's quite seriously. In all fairness, I'm at a loss in suggesting alternatives to how you drafted since I really don't see any particular combination of players you could have had that would make much, if any, improvement to your team. C Taylor was available in the fourth which I think is a slight improvement over Dillon. This would not have let you take R Williams but Walker and Jones would still be yours. Not much left as far as QB's so I have to say you got what was there. So, ultimately the only significant difference by taking a RB in the fourth instead of a receiver would be Taylor for Dillon and Evans instead of R Williams. Looks like a wash.

If you had esp you could have grabbed Parker in round two then taken Chambers in three and Wayne in four and then returned to your draft as it happened with round 5. I think that would have made some difference. I'm surprised Wayne was still on the board in the fourth round. Well, good for you for being as determined you are and best of luck.
