jdizel 0 Posted September 8, 2006 Jeff Reed or Lawrence tynes? I have Reed now but after that horrible kick last night I'm not sure I like him so much. Any thoughts?
Groundhog 24 Posted September 8, 2006 I'd go with Tynes. They have a better offense, so probably more opportunities, and Heinz Field is a tough place to kick in...swirling winds or something. Reed is going to have to kick there 7 more times this season. please see mine. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=230017
Gravity26 0 Posted September 8, 2006 Tynes - more high scoring battles means more opportunity. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=230054
g5jamz 0 Posted September 8, 2006 Did you see Reed's 44yd attempt last night on an unusually calm Pittsburgh night? Tynes.
16 and 33 0 Posted September 8, 2006 That was an awful attempt last night, but I wouldn't write off a proven steady kicker based on one play. Reed is still an OK option. Sure the longest FG at Heinz Field is "only" 48 yards, but he kicks 50 yarders on the road every year. Also, Kasay kicked a 54 yarder there a few weeks ago, so maybe it is pyschological (wait we're talking kickers.....nm). Tynes will get roughly the same number of FGA and PATs. He pretty much single handidly win the rescheduled (hurricane) Miami game last year which was really impressive. The only thing I want out of kickers is to do no harm. Make everyting inside 40. Either one will generally do that, coin flip.
