Trade Help

Recommended Posts

I've started the season 0-2 for the first time. My teams is as follows:

Bulger, Kitna, Leftwich

Tomlinson, Jordan, Bush, McAllister

Roy Williams, Driver, Mason, Bryant, Reggie Williams

I've been presented with the following offer:

Bulger, Tomlinson and Mason for

Eli Manning, James and Boldin

My league is pretty basic scoring...6 pts for all TD's; no pts for receptions; bonus pts @ 100 total yds for RB's & WR's/TE's; bonus pts @ 250 total yds for QB's.

Obviously I'd hate to give up LT this early but this does make me stronger at QB and WR.

Should I take this deal? Am I jumping the gun too early? Does it make be better in the long run?

I don't know what to expect from Edge. Do you think Eli is a huge upgrade at QB or will one of these guys step up before it's too late?

Any advice is appreciated.

I'll reply to your posts as well.

You have LT, Lamont, and Bush on the same team? Are there like only 4 teams in your league?

Regarding your question, there is no way you do this deal. LT to Edge is a huge downgrade. Bulger and Manning are comprable, with a Manning being somewhat preferable because of the injury risk. Boldin is the better WR, but does not compensate you for the loss in RB. Don't do it.

10 team league where you're allowed to keep one player from last years roster and it counts as your 1st round pick. You cannot protect the same player 2 years in a row.

I obviously kept Tomlison then grabbed Jordan early in the 2nd (which I'm regretting). Then got Bush in the 4th.

My advice is not to make the trade. LT is too valuable to deal away just because you are 0-2. Do you start one or two QBs? IMO, you should bench Bulget and start using Leftwich if you only start one. Bulger's O-line has looked horrible and can't seem to give him the time to make throws downfield. He is quickly becoming a middle of the the pack fantasy QB who is not worth starting every week.

Another factor to consider is bye weeks. Boldin and James obviously have the same bye (week 9) and it is still coming up. LT's bye is over after this week and you can plug him in from now until the Super Bowl which is a luxury any owner would love to have.

Eli plays what is arguably the toughest fantasy schedule in the league. Which is either a blessing (need for lots of passing) or a curse (playing a lot of tough D's) so depending which side of the fence you are on, Eli might have more or less value to you. IMO, his value is lessened by his schedule. Also, Kitna can be a good play in certain match-ups, i.e, this week again GB. I prefer to play the match-ups with QBs rather than rely on one elite QB through thick and thin.

Also, I believe that Mason is going to end up having a really good year in Bal. Obviously he is no Boldin but I think that Mason and LT are greater than Edge and Boldin. On top of that, Bush will continue to improve his numbers as the weeks go by and he starts getting more comfortable with his teammates and the pace of the league. JMO.

Thanks for the input in my thread!

i say dont make the trade. LT is too much of a fantasy consistency and manning for bulger is just a slight improvement. also boldin for mason is an improvement but it wouldnt compensate for your lost points at RB. i say stick with what you got cause if you play each player wisely, then you could win games
