Eagles fans......any one else a little worried?

Recommended Posts

Wasn't a trap game the Eagles are not a very good team and the Saints are and were the better team.

Philly number 2 no way. Carolina, Seattle, Cowboys, Saints, Chicago, NY Giants are all better than Eagles IMO

no i was right. they lost on a stupid special teams blunder, like i said.

and dude, how many threads are you going to post in or start in which you rip the eagles? this might be the 100th post/thread of yours i've seen bashing the eagles.

it's like "ok, we get it, you dont like the eagles." find something else to do already

the igs have beat houston, san fran, green bay and dallas. their first opportunity to travel and play a "good team" they get beat. houston, san fran and green bay are a combined 3-13 - on what basis do you rank philly so high and not the saints?

now, before you wig out, i think the igs are really good. but the saints did beat them - and using your logic, not even the igs have traveled and beaten a really good team yet.

I never wig out.

Like I said earlier, I think the fact that Eagles were coming off such an emotional game with Dallas, plus the fact that they were on the road, gave Nw Orleans a nice advantage. Despite that, it took a field goal with 3 seconds left to decide it. That's not a knock on teh Saints. I was impressed. I wouldn't have ranked them in the top seven before this week's game.

Other than the fourth quarter against the Giants, I thought the Eagles were as good as anyone before this week's game. That hasn't changed much.

I think the Bears are the clear cut number ones right now. The others have all had weeks where they looked terrible, except Philly. That's why I have them at number two.

So the Saints made no mistakes in that game. Please Pass interference. Coverage and tackling on Reggie Brown. Brees led his team down the field the Eagles tried to use 12 men because 11 could not stop him. Bad team making bad mistakes. Eagles should be 3-3 because Dallas gave away that game with turnovers.

there are 17 teams in the league who would have looked as good as anybody before this week if they had got to play houston, green bay and san fran in the first few weeks. in your house we spotted you 10 points, were minus 3 in TO's and with all that were inside the 10 with 30 seconds to go to tie it up - still do not understand how you think so highly of the igs and not the saints.

Saint's deserve a TON of credit. They are a good team, playing great and should definately be ranked ahead of the Eagles. I don't have a problem with that. Hopefully we get another shot at them in the playoffs and see how it goes then.

my nfc fanks

Bears

Saints

Seahawks

Eagles

Panthers

Cowboys

for starters i'm not trying to start a flame war. just a civilized discussion.

you say "spotted", i say "took". thats what constant pressure does, create turnovers.

and i will be the first to admit that the eagles schedule so far has been kind soft. but dude, the cowboys have only beat houston, tennessee and washington this year, and they are just about as bad as what the eagles have faced. what leg do you have to stand on when you criticize the eagles schedule while the cowboys schedule was just about as bad?

again, my stand is that its still to early to tell who's gonna win this NFC East. personally i feel that if the eagles stop with the mental lapses on defense and stop giving up too many big plays, i think its the eagles division to win. but this defense scares the crap out of me. they are super talented but yet they give up way too many big plays on D, they are like a turnstile on rush defense and never seem to make the big stops when they need them. not a good sign

like what the fock is up with michael lewis? 2 years ago is looked like he was on the road to becoming the best FS in th game, but now he's just messing up left and right. what gives with this guy? and i wont even get started on dhani jones. he flat out sucks

As an Eagle's fan, it's hard to argue that, so your point is a valid one.

I do believe that the Eagles are one of the better teams in the NFC and have enough talent to go all the way. However, it's apparent that they have issues with putting together 4 solid quarters of football each week.

There are also issues on the defensive side of the ball that need to be addressed.

Anyways, they better figure it out real quick before the tough part of the schedule is upon us.

i acree, and that's exactly what happened on akers fg to make it 10-zip. but the td that westy scored before that was a gift. the punt snap went right thru mcbriar's hands and the igs got that ball on the 5 - that had nothing to do with 'pressure', that was a gift.

kind of soft? like i pointed out, the packers, niners and texans are a combined 3-13, yogurt isn't that soft.

but dude

did you just 'dude' me? :pointstosky:

and this is where you are confused - i'm not saying anything in regards to how i think dallas stacks up against philly, this is all about my questioning newbie's opinion of the saints. in fact, i've not once stated we are any better or worse than philly, new orleans or florida state for that matter here. the philosphy he downplays the saints with he seemingly avoids applying to the igs, i am merely wondering why. the dallas/philly reference was to point out that the igs were equally fortunate to win a game at home in much the same way he 'accuses' the saints of doing.

That was an awesome game yesterday. I am really impressed with the Saints right now. They're on fire right now with a great coach on a load of talent on offense. Deuce Mcallister is still and elite back and with Bush to compliment him is downright scary. THe Oline gave up NO SACKS, to the best pass rush in the game. That last drive they put together was the selling point for me. That's hard to do and they did it with relative ease. Very solid defense as well. I think the Saints have a chance to go deep in the playoffs.

Payton deserves coach of the year right now. He uses Bush very well. He gives him just enough, and knows how to accentuate his physical skills. Deuce really impressed me yesterday, almost as much as Drew Brees.

Honestly, though, their defense is not championship caliber. A team like Seattle will shred them. Payton was able to neutralize Westbrook, but then again, Payton has a good track record as a coach against the Eagles (10-6).

I agree about the defense. But, the defense does not make big mistakes. Its really makes up for the lack of talent. I still think with the offense, the defense is plenty good enough for the Saints to go places. I dont think the saints will be shreded by anyone this year. I still think they'll lose a bunch more games, but theyll be in every game. I can almost guarantee it.
