How is this team?

Recommended Posts

I am in a ten man league.

I am currently 4-4 in 5th place and the top 4 make the playoffs. Top 2 guys are 6-2, 3rd and 4th are 5-3.

I made the following trades this week

1) I gave Javon Walker and got Ahman Green

2) I gave Thomas Jones and got Anquan Boldin

We start 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, TE, K, Def, IDP

Here is my current team after the trades:

QBs

Kitna

Favre

RB

A. Green

F. Gore

S. Alexander

W. Lundy

WR

A. Boldin

S. Smith

Roy Williams

A. Bryant

L. Evans

TE

Colston

K

Wilkins

Def

NE

SD

A few questions

1) How does this team look in terms of competing for the playoffs and the championship?

2) What other moves should I consider to improve the team?

Thanks and I will answer!!!

Team looks very good especially when Alexander gets back. I think you may need an upgrade at quarterback though. I know Kitna is second in the NFL in passing yards etc and most of Favre's good games have come against most of the last place teams in the league. Take a look at the playoff schedule. Overall a very good team. If Romo is available which he probably isn't grab him up. Also you do have receiver strenth to make trades.

Pretty much what he said. Kitna's okay for a starter, and is usually a lock for 250 and a TD or two, but that usually comes up a couple INTs. Easily your weakest area. Your RB core is solid, your WR/TE core is great, as your defense and kicker.

I know its a risk, but I would consider trading away Alexander to get a elite type QB (McNabb, Peyton, etc..). I just traded him and got Holt and MJ Drew (I needed to upgrade my WR core).

This is PURELY SPECULATION on my part, but I have a ffeling Alexander isn't coming back anytime soon. Maybe around wk 13 at best if I had to guess. From what I've read his foot is going to be evaluated every Monday until he is cleared to play by the docs. Who is to say this Monday he will be cleared?

SEA faced STL, SF and GB the next 3 weeks. Why Rush Alexander back when U can let him heal 100% for the playoffs?

just MHO...

Thanks for mine. Great trade your team looks good.Could use upgrade at qb.I traded Shaun for Clinton last week.Shaun might not come back and if he does he won't be the same Shaun.

I think that is a really solid team come playoff time, assuming SA comes back relatively healthy. He had scored 2 TD's in three games even at much less than 100% so I feel even hobbled he's still a productive back.

Please help:

I really wish I had your RB's!

Try and get a Stud QB, you may be able to trade away one of your RB's for one. I'm thinking Alexander. Your good on recievers though.

Honestly, I think you're good with running with Kitna as your QB for the rest of the season. He's gonna put up good numbers in Mike Martz's system. Your WR's are looking good, you have Colston at TE (good for you), your K's solid, and you have 2 decent DEF's. I think the only spot you could stand to upgrade is your RB situation. I would try to package Alexander and maybe Bryant and try to get back a couple of solid RB's in return. Hope this helps. Good luck!

You made some nice trades and should sit tight now. Favre/Kitna are fine, underrated starters and you'll be fine at RB when SA returns. Your WRs are studs and playing Colston at TE is grand larceny. D/STs and K also very strong. You're good to go and getting healthier (Boldin/SA). You'll also get Merriman back to your SD D for the playoffs. You're in great shape as long as you qualify. Hang tight!

I think you should sit tight too. Kitna is 5th and fantasy points so there are not many players higher on the list. You made some great traded to strengthen your team. Good luck

I like your team you will be very strong at rb, wr and TE. The only area that you could improve in is your QB. But I would not give up any of your studs to get one.

Overall its pretty good...great WR tandem and even better with Colston at TE!

Just my opinion, I don't think you'll win a championship with your QBs and RBs...most importantly the RBs. If Shaun comes back near 100% thats a whole different story, but thats a HUGE "if". Gore will be good down the stretch, but Gore + Green won't do it if you get nothing from Shaun. See if you can trade him for a solid RB...package him with one of your WR's and I bet you can get a great deal. You can afford to lose one, again especially with Colston. As far as the QB's go, if you upgrade enough at RB you might be fine, but put some feelers out. Anyone on the wire? I like Kitna's schedule but haven't looked at Favre's.

Put together a deal for a RB that will be top 5 down the stretch. Its hard to name names without seeing other teams rosters, but I'm sure you can find a couple. You've got the horses to do it, but do it soon before more bad news comes out about SA.

Edit: I see others are encouraging you to sit tight w/ SA. Whether you want to take that gamble is up to you, huge risk/reward. But right now you can likely get a great RB that you won't have to worry about every week.

I also think you are OK at QB with Kitna and Favre as a spot start. The only real way to improve on that is to get a Manning, Vick, or McNabb...and I don't see that happening.

I would agree to try and trade Alexander. Possibly package him with Evans, you're still stacked at WR, and go for a solid RB you can count on.

Otherwise, I would do nothing..it looks good.

Good team...

With the receiving core you have those were great trades!!!

Qb doesn't look that bad, however consider trading Alexander for a stud Qb if you can..

Lundy and Gore Green might do just fine for you...

Other than that sit tight.. Your team looks similar to mine.. Kitna/Palmer.. Jones/Parker/Jordan/Lundy..RWilliams/Burress/Horn/Evans/Bryant/Henry/

Please answer my post I don't know how to leave a link

Thanks :argue:

The team looks good. I might try and pedal Lundy while he's hot. Maybe combine Lundy with another RB or WR for a better QB. Thanks for mine.
