Flash Drives

Are these things good for storing music? I've got a ton of songs on my laptop that I want to unload without having to burn a thousand cds.

 

 

ETA: I'm talking long term storage, as in put the songs on the thing, and throw it in a drawer and never use it. TIA

That will work fine, but a 1 gig flash drive doesn't hold much more than a CD (750MB, I think). CDs are much cheaper.
