If he doesn't show by early evening, I have two choices.

One: Mock one team straight from FFToday Projections, VBD style, using lowest rated starter as the baseline.

Two: Seek a replacement tonight. I leave in the morning.

 

Also, I don't want to re-run the randomizer. So, we're only waiting for him to get our draft positions. I hope he shows soon. I'd much rather set things up tonight or early tomorrow, and come home exhausted with little to worry about.

There was a little mistake and something missing from the email I sent everybody.

 

Mistake: I said 13 starters and 12 bench. Bad math. 15 starters and 10 bench is more like it.

 

Missing: Defensive scoring includes a point per pass defended.

I've been working mids the last few days so I havent been spending alot of time on the comp, but I did get the detail letter and replied to it a little while ago.

Okay. We're all set. This thing will start as soon as FFKingofthemall picks on Tuesday Morning. In fact, go ahead and pick Monday night if you want, but don't start before that. I will be home sometime Monday night. If some of you want to forward Round 1 lists to me, that's fine. I'll keep it rolling. It's pretty obvious who's going in the first round this year.

ah well - great practice drafting lower. I've had plenty of experience drafting 1-5, and I know that one of these years the law of averages is going to catch up to me.

 

Probably this year. I can see it now, 4 leaguse, I'll draft 8th, 10th, 11th and 8th.

 

 

 

Happened that way in fantasy baseball this year - 8th 8th and 9th. Uggh.

With the later than usual drop off in upper tier backs this year, I rather think picking 8-10 is just about perfect. We'll see if I get who I want in the first two rounds coming from the 8 slot. If not, I'd rather move down in 1 and up in 2.

And on that thought, since this is for practice and reference, if any of you have a strong desire for a specific spot, by all means feel free to negotiate a picks trade over the weekend. I'll edit the draft accordingly. Trading up or down during the draft, players for picks, whatever is most realistic to you, is okay too. Just keep it organized and don't be slowing things down. I see very little of this in my leagues, but a picks trade last year (a 1st rounder for a 2nd and a 3rd) made for great commentary. I'm perfectly content in the 10 spot, and regretting inviting Grigs over because we love the same guy.

nah - I'll take the hand that the Gods of randomness dealt to me.

 

As I said, these are the situations that I feel I need the most practice in anyway. I have a lot of experience in the top 1/2 of the draft having never drafted lower than 6th in 4 yearsX4 leagues (+ one completely lame Yahoo free public league).

 

Drafting 8-9-10-11-12 is where I need the most work, so though I might cry about it like a little girl with a skinned knee, I am perfectly content to draft here.
