firehawks 0 Posted December 12, 2006 Just lost by 1/2 pt on the interception in the last minute of the game. Was up by 13.5 pts against Bears def. 2 tds, 1 int, 2 sacks. If Holt had not converted on 4th and 20, I would have won. Most pts a team has scored and lost in history of league, regular season or playoffs,

firehawks 0 Posted December 12, 2006 It has to go down as greatest game in history of league, Although my season is now over. And if I had not benched Rothlesberger for Harrington I would have won. Snow predictions scared me away, Still am alive in other league, but this was the big money.
bwillingham 0 Posted December 12, 2006 I feel your pain. That second Hester TD return left my team up by 1 and the Gould field goal attempt with 4 minutes left would have given me a little breathing room (heck, I think if they had gone for it on 4th down they could have run out the clock and I still would have won), but after the field goal miss, the sack tied it for my opponent and the INT gave him the win. Going into the game, I felt fairly confident with the lead I had and Gould still to play against my opponent who just had the Chicago D. And to think that I sat Bulger figuring that every one of his turnovers would be both -3 for my team and +3 for his team. Guess I overthought that one, huh? Hindight 20/20, better luck next year... enjoi525 0 Posted December 12, 2006 I was down 16 points going into tonights game and I need this win to make the playoffs. I had only Holt left to play and he got me 15 points had he gained 5 more yards and reached 80 total I would have gotten that 1 more point to atleast tie the game. Oh well, there's always next plus I have 2 more leagues that I'm in the playoffs.

Holt snagged a 19 yard reception, WAIT HOLDING CALL!! DOOOOOHHHH!! Then on 4th and 20 Holt, grabs a 26 yard circus catch to pull out the win for me against my arch rival in the first round of the playoffs. He was 1st in power rankings and I was 8th! He has lost in the first round of the playoffs seven years in a row now! This one has to got to be killing him!!
hyness 0 Posted December 12, 2006 Last week I lost by .06 points. SIX FOCKING ONE HUNDREDTHS OF A POINT! Went from 1st overall and a bye this week to 3rd place and a wildcard game against the top point scorer this week. I just got eliminated from the playoffs tonight. I was in 1st place for 6 weeks. This is exactly where I was last night; Holt's last reception took me from 81.96 to 83.24 vs. the other guy's 82.72. In addition, the guy who I knocked out of the playoffs last night has lost all three matchups against my team this season by less than one point each time. Sucks to be him. Foghorn Leghorn 0 Posted December 12, 2006 I feel all your pain. Here's what happened to me: I have Hasselbeck, S.Jax, Rudi Johnson, Steve Smith and Shockey in a keeper league and needed to win to get into the playoffs (before the "4 team league" comments come out, Smith and Jackson were acquired via trade for draft picks - the guy I traded with is looking good for next year). So I'm thinking this week went rather well - nope. I lose by 2 points because that fool Fred Thomas goes for an interception on 4th down with the game well in hand and it goes RIGHT THROUGH HIS ^&%$^&%$^% HANDS, giving Owens (who my opponent had, along with LT2, Eli, and Gates, amongst others) the gift TD that knocks me out of the playoffs. Much like firehawks, I am now the highest point total to lose a game in our league's 11 year history, and I got eliminated as a bonus. There is no emoticon that captures what I'm thinking right now....
steelers2101 7 Posted December 12, 2006 Not that it'll make anyone feel better, but I benched Dayne for Addai (after having Dayne in the starting spot) and dropped Bills D and Jeff Reed for Jets D and Gramatica - 41 points lost in all, lost by 30.
firehawks 0 Posted December 12, 2006 I dont know how anyone else feels, but I would rather get pounded by 50 pts than lose the way I lost last night. Hurts a lot less. Had about 4 hours sleep and cannot keep eyes open at work today. I have another league left to go this weekend, but my team is not that good. Winning on sheer luck. But had I won, I would have been going up against team with Vick, LT, Boldin, Housh and Gould. And my top wr D. JAckson would have been out. So while this loss hurts, 8 yrs ago I lost the championship game on a tie breaker. That is even worse. To not lose in the finals, but not be the champ. eefflrat 0 Posted December 12, 2006 Well, misery loves company so.... Lineups are due at 1Pm Sunday for our league. I was scared about Willis not playing so I benched him at 12:59 and switched him with Fargas (don't ask me why, just figured he would at least get some touches). I debated that move for 35 minutes before I made it, just stared at the computer and stared. Lost because of it...No title defense for me this year. Lesson learned, if you're fighting for a playoff spot go down with your best guys in your lineup, not a scrub WW pickup. Yuch...

I lost a superbowl on Monday night one time leading by 10 pointsand having qb Bernie Kosar left to go while my opponent had Bernie's receiver Reggie Langhorne. Of course all was well because evertime Langhorne should catch a td pass it meant points for my qb as well. Disaster struck in the 3rd quarter. Kosar goes down, the backup Mike Phipps comes in and throws 2-4th quarter touchdowns to Langhorne. I lose. Woe was me.

Whoa, freaky. That is almost word for word what happened in a game in my league last night, except after the last sack he was still up 1 pt! Then the INT put the other guy up 1 pt. The guy who lost had Hasselbeck on the bench and started Vick!
