Tarheel Boy 0 Posted December 30, 2006 What a comeback by Creighton. They were down by 11 with 4 minutes to go and I was ready to chalk this up as a loss. THey made some huge shots down the stretch and Missouri State choked at the FT line.

Tarheel Boy 0 Posted December 30, 2006 I'm still debating over the UNLV/Houston game. The Rebels have been pretty impressive so far this year with wins over Wichita State and then beating Texas Tech on the road. Houston has been a disappointment so far this year. Tarheel Boy 0 Posted December 31, 2006 THe lines tomorrow are really tight. I think the Heels will win tomorrow rather easily, but I don't know if they'll cover. They have 3 games in the next 8 days, so I look for Williams to pull his starters if they have a nice cushion. I'll probably stay away from that one. As far as the UCLA game, that line is awfully high. Washington lost to USC, but the Bruins had a struggle on Thursday night as well.

GridIronAssassin#1 0 Posted January 1, 2007 Wichita State was +4 now they are up to +5. Too early for that line adjustment to be public money. I'd like to try this game, but Southern Illinois is very good defensively and on their home court. I agree Wichita State is due, but I"m not sure about playing the game at SIU Arena (Carbondale, IL). Tulane is playing in New Orleans at the same time. I like Tulane because they have shown they can win on the road. New Orleans only won their last 2 home games by 4 points and the competition was weak.

GridIronAssassin#1 0 Posted January 2, 2007 Monday, January 1st 2team parlay: Boise State +210 & Southern Illinois -230 (pays over 3 to 1)[WIN I hate going against Jetsfan and Philly on Wichita, but Wichita State was awful against NI and not much better before break. I'm only taking SI for the victory, but I'm following PhillyBear's footsteps on the football team, and hoping the wrong team is favored. I like Boise State not for football reasons, but because it''s the last game and I think most people are going to love Oklahoma because it's a familiar powerhouse name and the record looks good. I hope Boise State shows up, kind of like George Mason in college basketball. Is it possible? Good Luck All Edited to add: I got greedy and never took Oklahoma +800 on Boise State's last drive. They even offered Oklahoma +950. I could've profitted over 3 times on either outcome, but declined to hedge. Hopefully I learned something here.

GridIronAssassin#1 0 Posted January 2, 2007 Early leans for me are Ohio State and Temple I like Ohio State's chances in the big dance this year, but Indiana has always played them close. I know Ohio State hasn't hit full stride yet either though. I might throw the moneyline in some kind of a parlay though. As far as Temple goes, I just don't know. Again, I'd probably play the Duke moneyline just to throw it in a bet since I think Duke can win straight up but not sure about the cover. My card for Tuesday: Suns -4 Clippers +4.5 Southern Mississippi +1.5 Akron -7.5 Bradley +2.5 Looks good. I'm glad you posted because you brought my attention to how well the ZIPS are playing. Tarheel Boy 0 Posted January 2, 2007 YTD: 74-68-4 Tonight's games I like Ohio State -8.5 (Going against the majority, but I'll take my chances) Temple +15 (I think Dook wins, but it stays around the 10 point range most of the game) Missouri -2.5 (Missouri has been tough at home this year) Marist -3 (They've played like the preseason conference favorites so far this year. Jordan has lived up to the billing so far this year. The Greyhounds have played a strange schedule so far with 8 games already away from their home court. Fans should be hyped for first home game in a while, but I think Marist has too much.) Good luck...
GridIronAssassin#1 0 Posted January 2, 2007 January 2nd , 07 4 team parlay: DUKE -1755,Akron-345, Louisville(football)-375, Missouri State -145 (pays 2 to 1)WIN Logic is I like Duke to win straight up at Cameron Indoor where they are undefeated. I like the ZIPS since they played Nevada to 2 points the other day. I put Nevada as a possible final four team prognostication. I like Louisville's football team to win because I saw them play and they can pass and run the ball. I never heard much about Wake Forest all year. Finally, I realize Bradley is at home and were a successful NCAA tournament team last year. However, Marcellus Somerville and Patrick O'Bryant are gone. Those were the key players that led them to victories over Kansas in round 1 and Pittsburgh in round 2. I think Missouri State choked against Creighton where they led by 10 late in the game. I think the game was stolen from Missouri State in St. Louis where replay which nobody but the refs could see overturned the on court decision. I mean how can a ball travel the whole court in less that 1.5 seconds and then with time on the clock get tipped in? I think they were robbed. Also, Missouri State did beat the very good Wisconsin team. So, anyways, that's why I picked these teams. I just got spooked from some of the other games, so I left them out. Good luck all. GridIronAssassin#1 0 Posted January 3, 2007 Jan 3, 07 Lean/s: Florida State - 145 is my choice as of now Clemson @ Florida State -2.5 is the game in question. Florida state is tough at home going 10-0 so far in which one of the wins was Florida. Florida State's only 2 losses were at Pittsburgh and at Wisconsin which are 2 very tough places to win. Clemson is ranked 23rd by the APP with 316 total votes where as Florida State is 28th with 58 votes. Clemson is undefeated, so it's kind of hard to evaluate their strength. Included in their 14-0 record , Clemson beat South Carolina in South Carolina, and they beat Georgia at home. Both teams should be fired up for this game, so I don't see any advantage/disadvantage there. I don't see any key injuries on either side either. If Clemson can win here, I'd have to put them in my hypothetical sweet 16 bracket, with possibilities of more.

GridIronAssassin#1 0 Posted January 4, 2007 January 4th 07 leans: (asterisk after means I like it more.... 2 asterisks means doubly more, etc) Syracuse +1.5 Wright State -1 Indiana State +1.5 NC Charlotte +8.5 Marquette -1 ** Florida International +11 UL Lafayette -9 UL Monroe -3 Wichita State -8.5 * * Detroit U +1.5 Southern Illinois -3.5 Louisiana Tech -6.5 Loyola Chicago No Line yet Florida Atlantic +8.5 Oregon -8 * Arkansas LittleRock -1 Iowa PK Memphis -15 Hawaii +9 Boise State -3.5 UCLA -12 Arizona State +13 Cal Irvine -8.5 Cal Santa Barbara +3 Cal Riverside +4.5 Idaho +24.5 CS Northridge +12.5 Washington +1 * * Maryland -31 Samford -11.5 Austin Peay Pk Northern Arizona -4 Eastern Illinois +3 Tennessee State -2 Tennessee Tech -5 Idaho State +4.5 Montana -2.5 Pregame considerations: I think Pittsburgh is better than Syracuse and should beat them in most cases. When I first looked at the game, I thought, Pittsburgh, no doubt about it. They played Okahoma State tight in Oklahoma State, and their only other loss was at Wisconsin who is ranked #4. Syracuse lost at home to Oklahoma state , Wichita State ,and Drexel. But, it scares me that Pittsburgh's Aaron Gray was held to only 5 points in his last 2 games. Florida A&M played the 2-3 zone which Pittsburgh obliterated by hitting 13 three pointers. But that was Florida A&M, and can Pittsburgh continue the torrid pace in the Carrier Dome? If Gray is in a scoring funk for some reason and Pittsburgh isn't as good on the threes as the other day against Florida A&M, Pittsburgh might be surprised with another loss. The Cuse is hyped for this game, and will give it their best shot. I just wonder if Pitt is as ready as they should be. So my lean at this point is Syracuse +1.5. Washington with home court should prevail over Arizona. Arizona is shooting great this year, but I feel Washington is going to want this game more. Last year Arizona did beat them here in double OT, but the pressure of keeping the winning streak alive and playing on the road will be too much for Arizona here, I think. An observation of Arizona is that their bench is not that good. I think this game will be hard enough fought that Arizona will have to rely on parts of their bench. UCLA is playing sound basketball right now. Even being on the road in Oregon State shouldn't be enough to slow them down. I keep looking for a game to pick against UCLA, because I figure they can't be as strong without Jordan Farmar. I can't seem to find one yet. UCLA is in stride, so I like them to continue their dominance over Oregon State. Marquette should be ready for this road game in Providence. I expect McNeal to bounce back to his normal double figures after being benched in the 2nd half last game. The talent of Marquette should out distance the home court of Providence here. Wichita State -8.5 over Bradley, because Wichita State really needs to get back on track. Bradley is good, but Wichita State can drive to the basket better where as Bradley will try to rely on the three ball. Plays: 2 team Parlay Marquette +120 & Wichita State -395 (1.76 to 1 payout) LOSS added: 4 t Parlay UCLA-1005, Wa State -1005, Wash +1, Boise State -180 (pays 2.59 to 1)LOSS
