 :P

You must live in Indiana. I'd be as angry as you if I were stuck in one of those podunk towns where everyone's an alchoholic because there's nothing else to do there.

I'm pretty sure I could recruit Michigan to kids.

- Major program with massive tradition

- Play in front of over 100,000 at every home game

- Nationally televised as much as anyone else not named Notre Dame

- Look at who's played there in the past and how many are in the NFL

- etc

Easy sell.

Agreed.

IMO, one coach who would be great at the college level and who could enjoy a change of scenery is Bill Cowher.

A name like Cowher appeases the alumni first of all, and secondly, he's a former Cleveland Brown with a big name who can possibly attract talent in the Ohio Valley and get some of those Buckeye recruits to come to Ann Arbor.

Personally, I'd rather see Cowher at PSU. I think he'd be a great coach at the college level.

If he went to either school, his coaching style matches perfectly the smashmouth running football played in the Big Ten.

If you can win with Kordell Stewart as your QB, you can win anywhere.

tell me how you came to be a fan of the team you root for and i'll give you my definition of a "fair weather fan."

--did you start following them because of their cool uniforms?

--did you start following them because the team you should be rooting for in your homestate sucked and you got on the bandwagon during a super bowl year?

--do you have a different city team you root for in each major sport?

--were you born and raised in one part of the country but inexplicably root for a team on the other side of the country?

--did you pick your team you root for because of one player you really, really liked?

--are you a fan of multiple teams in the same sport?

let's hear your story. i bet it has to do with some of the questions above--and yes, as you might have surmised, my definition of "fair weather" has a lot to do with the above questions.

check my sig: born and raised in michigan, pal. i'm a fan of nothing that isn't michigan. never have been. never will be. what's your story, mr. fair weather labeler?

Born and Raised a Bears fan, junior. It was my Fathers team, it was breed into me at birth. I grew up on the same street with Walter Payton. I used to run up Paytons hill in summer to do the same work out he did. I even go as far as to never, under any circumstance, have a packer on my fantasy team.

And I never rooted for the Bears to lose. You on the other hand rooted for the Lions to lose this sunday - How can you call yourself anything other than a Fair Weathered Fan. When things bad for your team, you didnt stick by them. I have critized, and complained, but through thick and thin, I have always rooted for my team. You have not.

My definition of a fair weathered fan is people like you. People who would rather see your team lose than win.

that's a charming internet story you have there. alex karras is my uncle and he used let me play poker with him and joe schmidt when i was 3.

now go log back on as your sweetmeat alias.

:dunno: :D :(

hmm...you might want to locate the source of that anger before it puts you in an early grave.

Dude...for as much as you can slam swamp for....this one is not the case.

Fans should complain about being outcoached in bowls.

As Bo was...as Carr has been. To take it to another team...as Phil Fulmer has been.

Because when it comes down to it...the postseason says alot about coaches.

look at what Carrol does...what Paterno does in bowls...what Barry Alvarez did in bowls.

When you are the coach at Michigan...2 things will get you canned. Not beating OSU and not winning bowl games.

see? even sho gets it. ;)

A fair weather fan jumps from bandwagon to bandwagon. If a loss by your favorite team helps the franchise attain a better draft position, why would you not hope that happens?

Then again you said you'd never have a Packer on your fantasy team, so you're one of those illogical radicals anyways.
