A true bludgeoning. I think Russel is better than Quinn. The only question will be his freakin' Wonderlic score.

Not that I'm an expert but If I was ranking NFL QB prospects, I'd go...

Troy Smith (mobile, beautiful spiral, accurate storm arm, proven winner, performs under pressure, I still can't forget that play where he spent 15 seconds running for his life and hitting the open receiver)

Brennan (looked focking awesome the 2 games I've seen him but it is a passing conference)

JaMarcus Russell (cannon for an arm, a winner, showed up B Quinn, but massive QBs haven't fared well in the NFL thus far)

Brady Quinn (I think he's regressed because he lost his motivation/doesn't feel challenged like he did... but is still a solid pro prospect)

All of these guys are 1st round picks in my book. Then again, I thought Ryan Leaf would be better than Peyton Manning.

Troy Smith?

Brennan plays in the run and shoot. R&S QB's typically haven't fared well in the NFL. Rounds 3-5 likely.

Troy Smith is maybe a little undersized. He's listed at 6'1" He's probably closer to 5'11" Could present problems in the pocket. Late 1st round maybe, more than likely 2nd round.

I think Brian Brohm is ahead of Smith as a late 1st rounder.

Quinn and Russell are the head of the class. If Russell declares.

I don't think I've ever seen that description before.

What would you describe him as? His arm strong is more than enough for the NFL. He's pretty damn accurate every time I've seen him. His mechanics look a little off sometimes but the ball gets there. Throws an accurate, tight deep ball.

Maybe you should just stop now.

Everyone else will agree with your assessment.

If Brennan declares, I think there's zero chance he falls past the early 3rd round. I think once he works out and shows that he's the better passer than all the other prospects, he shoots up the board. It won't happen, but I'd love to see him in Martz's system. His numbers are incredible, but he's got a nice touch, a strong arm, great accuracy, enough mobility and seemed to have really good pocket presence and awareness. People point to Timmy Chang as the argument against Brennan but he didn't have the arm strength and even Chung didn't put these numbers up. 70% completion %; less than 1 INT per game; 50some TDs, 5,000some yards. And June Jones really seems to believe in the kid. He looks like a more polished Jay Cutler at this point.

Yeah, Smith is undersized. And people said Vince Young would have problems because of his sidearm delivery. I think Smith is mobile enough that his height won't pose nearly as many problems as your prototypical pocket passer. I just don't think these absolute truths like "Must be 6'3" and "Must have over the top delivery" apply to mobile QBs.

I didn't think Brohm was going to declare. How his backup performed makes me nervous about Brohm. Sounds stupid, but I'm taking him down a peg or two. I question whether it's the system or not. Chris Redman looked pretty good at Louisville too. Taken in the 2nd or 3rd round as I recall.

As for JaMarcus Russell, he's throwing to 3 of the top 10 Wide Receivers in the nation. I wonder how highly we'd think of him if you gave him an average receiving corps.

Maybe you should just stop now.

Oh God. I didn't even notice you were pointing out a typo the 1st time. I just got back from the office at 11:30. Obviously time for bed. :ninja:

How odd not to see any Charlie Weis disciples chiming in!

What was all that about Willingham's teams folding like a Chinese bicycle in big games?

Mark my Werds.

Troy Smith will be a good backup QB in the NFL.

What he said.
