p.man 7 Posted April 7, 2007 Game 1 of the weekend series goes to the Mets. They played good defense and had a lot of hits again tonight. The Mets have scored 33 runs and have only givin up 3 runs on the season so far. 11-1 was the score. Oliver Perez gets the win. Redman gets the loss. Reyes had 4 rbi's, 2 triples, and was 3 for 6 on the night. The Mets start the season 4-0. The Braves suffer their 1st loss. They are 3-1. So far so good for the Mets. Big Blue 06 195 Posted April 7, 2007 and the spank$ ? They are playing ugly, sloppy, hard to watch baseball. That said, I haven't missed an inning yet, and I don't plan to start anytime soon.

football_scooter 0 Posted April 7, 2007 Perez was "Mr Irrelevant" for me in all 3 of my FFB leagues. 24th round, 25th round. 22nd round. He K'd 9 in 5 IP in his second to last spring start and I had him when he broke out big....then he tanked last year, but going into a pretty neutral park with an amazing offense behind him, I was sure that if he'd found his confidence he'd be a 15 game winner...the guy has 180 K stuff, too. He coulda had the CG today easily...but that 8th inning lasted 30 mins while the Mutts batted around. I think Perez was at 87 pitches through 7 IP. He could have finished that no problem...good to see the Mutts being conservative with him. Last thing he needs is to give up a couple gopher balls after getting cold on the bench and having it hurt his confidence. Hell of a start though! The Bravos were rolling...swept the Phillies...man. That's a good hitting team Perez shut down. One mistake to Francour but otherwise he had the Braves befuddled. Love the guy as my #6 SP.
