Sean Avery, NY Rangers

Recommended Posts

he is ruining the very small chance that the Rangers had to win. He has angered the Sabres who have shown that if mad, they play hard and well. They are more talented than the Rangers and the more Avery talks, the fewer games it will take for the Sabres to win

I disagree. It's the NHL playoffs...they're already going to be playing hard and tough. Now, they will focus their anger and attention on Avery...as opposed to the guys BUF should be paying attention to...like Jagr, Nylander, Shanny...

Same for the media. Instead of the pressure being on Jagr, The King and the rest of the stars on the Rangers, it's on Avery to back up what he said.

Just the fact that we're talking about Avery and not the big guns proves that he's doing his job.

People are so down on him...calling him a bum and much worse. I never really got to see him much in LA, so I don't know what went on but since he came to the Rangers he's been GOLD, JERRY...FOCKING GOLD!

Plays tough. Doesn't take too many penalties. Creates some space on the ice for other guys. Adds an edge to the entire team. Big hits. Timely goals.

He's a pest, no doubt, but he can play too. Frankly, he reminds me of a poor man's Esa Tikkanen.

well to be honest, i think he's a great fit for the rangers. jagr has been wussy when its come to pressure the last couple years and he takes it all off him. worked perfectly against the thrashers.

he'll do what he can against buffalo, but there's no one guy like ilya on hotlanta.

i wouldnt complain if he got umbergered, but no big deal either way.

looking forward to a much more exciting series than the  Islanders

oh...and Buffalo in 5

The Ranjerks are NHL's "team" (one of a few) - THEY will get the calls their way just like you got the calls your way against the Islanders.

Trust me - you read it here first - when this series is over get back to me on this one - OK?

Buffalo is way too well coached to take their minds off players like Jagr and Nylander.

I love how you turds from buffalo discount what the rangers have done this season. So for sh!ts and giggles, lets look at how they performed since Jan 1st. Mind you, Buffalo played the rangers 4 times, won all 4 ( 2 in OT and 1 shootout) before Dec 1st when the rangers struggled. So here ya go Buffalo Turds, lets see how our teams match up

The difference between the two teams all came in calendar year 2006 -- since the first of this year, the Sabres remained one of the best teams in the league with a 25-15-4 record (54 points), but the Rangers were right there with them, going 24-13-7 (55 points) over their last 44 games

That covers more than half the regular season, not just some late season hot streak. But over the last 17 games, the Rangers were 12-3-5 to the Sabres' 9-6-2.

So if you think your coming to play the icelanders again, think again. We are just as quick, tough, and we have something you dont have, and thats a proven goaltender who plays better under pressure ( Gold Medal anyone? ).

Avery is exactly what you dont want to face either. You think Afenginov, Briere, Pominville and whatever else you throw out will keep it under control when Avery jabs you in the ribs with his stick, gives you a facial amongst other things? The experience guys in ATL couldnt, and since Day 1, no team has been under control. Hell, the immortal blowdeur couldnt keep his cool. So i dont know why your team is any different

I have a lot of respect for buffalo, you all had a great season up there, and have a class organization from Head coach down. Muckler is the suck though.

If you think buffalo is gonna steamroll the boys from NYC, your sadly mistaken. Im not saying we are gonna win, but its gonna be a better series then you think.

no one is saying it will be an easy series, but the sabres are a better team, and will eventually win

Should be a great series. Great goaltending matchup. The Sabres have speed and quickness on all their lines, so it will be real tough for my Rangers. Hopefully, they can pull it out.

LETS GO RANGERS!!

Avery was a joke tonight. What's all this crap I heard about him turning their season around? Maybe in the regular season and against the focking Thrashers, but the Sabres are a real team. His little game doesn't work against them.
