phillybear 366 Posted June 16, 2007 Glad that I stopped posting baseball. Call it a jinx, but I've been doing well since I stopped posting, hammered Oakland run line and LA Dodgers last night. thekris 0 Posted June 17, 2007 I've pretty much taken a slight decline the past few days. Was doing great then took a drastic turn for the worse. Hit the 3 1pm games today then lost a couple since. Oh well. The other day I got bored working graveyard shift and actually figured out my stats since posting at the beginning of the thread. Broke it down by games W-L and also in units Games: 44-34 Units: 59-50 Kinda thought it would've been better but still in the positives. I think the last few postings really made it worse. I like your picks for today PhillyBear. All of your high unit games look good except for Seattle so far but it's not over yet and they're a hell of a lot better than Houston. Are you still messing around with baseball too GridIron?
phillybear 366 Posted June 21, 2007 It's a weird dichotomy. I have tremendous luck posting football at this site, but struggle with other sports. The only time I've posted plays in the last week was Saturday, which was the only losing day I've had in the last 8 days. Some of these games are in progress. Let's see what happens. If it comes out profitable, I'll try to post again. thekris 0 Posted June 21, 2007 Good going so far on your games PhillyBear. I decided to try something different for a week and see where it gets me. Starting Monday of this week I decided to only bet up to 4 games a day. Taking the longest win streak, against the longest losing streak, and the 2 biggest underdogs. For instance, Today I took Detroit (4 game winning streak) Padres (Baltimore on like a 9 game losing streak) and took Cincinnati (+220) and Phillies (+200). The streak thing usually works for me if I'm undecided on a game I'll go with their w/l streaks. And the idea of taking 2 big dogs came from a buddy of mine. Always took 2 heavy favorites and then he had to hit them both to come out ahead. Always seemed to go 1-1. Figured if the dogs work the same way, I'll slowly get ahead. May turn out to be really focking stupid of me so only trying it for this week. So far between Monday and Tuesday I'm 3-4. (Only took 3 games yesterday because Baltimore was biggest losing streak but also big underdog. Used my common sense and just stuck with Padres).

thekris 0 Posted June 21, 2007 Went 1 for 4 yesterday too. The system seems to be sucking a$$hole so far but will finish out the week. We get a lot of chatter in the football threads on the Main Bored during the season, and they always know who to go with. Giants Rule is always whoring out his book for signup bonuses. I will post AFL plays again this weekend on the Main Bored, so post there, and you might get some responses. Good luck.

phillybear 366 Posted June 23, 2007 Colorado gives up 3 runs in extra innings. This is just like college hoops this year. I couldn't win in OT then, and now I keep losing in extras in bases, over and over again. Yuck.

phillybear 366 Posted June 23, 2007 Arena Football for 2 units Columbus (-2) Kansas City (+6) Arena Football for 1 unit Austin (+9.5) Grand Rapids (+13) Columbus and New York need to win to make the playoffs. Both are stumbling down the stretch. While Columbus has been somewhat competitive in their 5 losses in a row, they were against some of the best teams in the league. New York has been completely dominated for 3 games in a row. Columbus is the better team, and coming off a close loss to Philly puts them in a better mind set than New York, which lost by 54 points last week. Kansas City and Chicago is another game for playoff seeding. Kansas City has won 6 of 7 games, and somehow continue to be the most underrated team in the AFL. Chicago has done decently as well, but much of their success is due to forcing turnovers, and the law of averages will even that out eventually. However, I'll take the points in a toss up game between two pretty good teams, even though I think Kansas City is better. Taking points with a suddenly competitive Austin team, and taking the points with Grand Rapids in an overlay. Although both are playing teams that need wins, in those situations, teams tend to play conservative and feel the pressure. Good luck to all.
phillybear 366 Posted June 24, 2007 Taking San Diego (-136) for 4 units tonight. Backing impressive Chris Young, and fading inconsistent Wakefield. SD was snakebit last night, but have a very good chance of taking this game. Boston has basically been playing around .500 ball on the road lately. I don't feel fully comfortable backing the light hitting Pads, but the pitching mismatch dictates this play.

phillybear 366 Posted June 26, 2007 Stupid baseball continues to be a daily roller coaster. Colorado scores 6 runs in the ninth to take the lead, then blow the save. Went 6-1 in the AFL this week. Might be time to start to phase out the other sports a bit, and concentrate more on football; basically the AFL playoffs and CFL regular season. It's just too much of a daily grind right now with so many sports going on.
