Jeremy 0 Posted June 15, 2007 First let me just say that I really hate "best ball" formats for mock drafts. Every fantasy magazine does this and it really distorts how a real draft would go. At least in this one, I think most drafters tend to ignore it. My first impressions: JScott-A good team based on the strength of Tomlinson alone. Him and say a Marion Barber are going to do as well or better than the 2 RBs you'll get in the 1st rounds if you're drafting late. A HUGE advantage. If McNabb stays healthy, this team is great. Iceman-Nice RBs, but I'm going to need a better QB than Romo, and the WRs are marginal. Having Gates is always a nice advantage, though. Clash-Would love this team if I could get a better QB than Cutler. Cap'n Lou- I like it. Takes stones to wait until round 5 to get your RB2. Makes you very strong at QB and WR, and I like Barber a lot. Soloist-Parker seems like a reach, but more than made up for it with Thomas Jones in the 3rd. The rest is just a'ight for me. Not good, not bad. Just a'ight. RLLD-Would love this team if I could find a RB2 on there somewhere. And one is needed when your first rounder is Addai. I like Vernon Davis in the 7th. Dan-It all sort of hinges on Jacobs. Since I don't think much of him as a RB2, I'm not thrilled with this one. Don't like Coles in the 5th either, but your 7th-10th rd picks. Vikes-You did very well on your first 4 picks. Alexander at 1.08 is a steal. My only complaint is I think Bell, Mason, and Lendale White are all pretty much useless. Fantasy King-Again, I'm not seeing a RB2. You're very strong at QB and TE, and I like what you did in the middle rounds. Jennings will be a nice pick for you. Remote-Love the Rudi/Bush combo. One is solid and predictable. The other is boom or bust. Good balance there. Great team for having to pick at #10. Fumble-Sort of got away with waiting until the 4th round to get RB2. Your advantage at QB will make up for a mediocre RB2. Your WRs have a lot of upside. This team might do better in a best ball than a real league. Ted-Like the Colston pick...um...yeah, that was a nice pick... Sorry. I just can't stand Edge or Portis, so well...you know. And you might want to draft an actual dude for a QB soon. Dan 59 Posted June 16, 2007 Dan-It all sort of hinges on Jacobs. Since I don't think much of him as a RB2, I'm not thrilled with this one. Don't like Coles in the 5th either, but your 7th-10th rd picks. The Jacobs pick was a bit out of the ordinary for me, and I tried something different this draft. I will explain more fully if we do breakdowns afterward. Coles is not so much an "I love him" type pick, but rather the best talent available. He is what he is . . . a non-sexy pick that produces for the spot he's taken at. Regarding the 7th-10th (and maybe 11th and 12th if you see them) . . . thank you. The guys in my dynasty league try to get me to trade my middle round picks, because they're convinced that's where I draft my best. My commish said - tongue-in-cheek - that he would trade his first for my third. One of these I'll take him up on it. And destroy my draft.
