i threw $25 on the tigers winning tonight over minny by 3 at 5/1..scott baker is awful..

im still on the fence with hantuchova over serena at +600...

hantuchova plays her well..but serena is on fire and rules on grass...im most likely passing on this one...

Holy S#it. Nice job yesterday. Took my Spurs and Ducks winnings and bought some stuff for work. Between overspending and hitting a losing streak I've been out of betting for the past week or so. But tough to stay away and now that I'm doing comfortably again think I'll jump into some games tonight.

I woke up from passing out from drinking, and saw that SD blew their lead. FOCK. Could have been a nice day, but I got juiced. And juice in baseball will kill ya. FOCK. Well, we have early games and late games today. Nice.

FWIW, I love Winnepeg in CFL tomorrow. My book won't put out a line until Thursday night, but I am going to hammer the Blue Bombers.

CFL YTD: 4-3; +2.5 units

Thursday (8:00 EST)

Winnipeg (-5.5) for 3 units WINNER

Interesting how Montreal goes from playing in the championship game last year, and you fast forward to Week 2 this season, and Montreal is being compared to the bottom dwelling Hamilton Tiger Cats. What happened? An offense that didn’t really need fixing got fixed and subsequently looked awful last week. In a home opener, Montreal’s offense put up a single point (on a missed FG; Sask gave up 6 points on three self inflicted safeties) in a pathetic 16-7 loss to Saskatchewan. While Montreal was a popular public pick last week, the result really shouldn’t be a surprise, as the West division without a doubt has the three best teams in the CFL this year, and Edmonton could possibly make it four best. Indeed, the East went 0-3-1 last week in head to head games with the West. It’s not that Montreal was completely shutdown by Sask defense last week, outgaining Sask 354 to 315 in yards, as Cavillo was 28 for 39, 271 yards, 3 INTs, but with passer rating of 58.8 . It’s just poor timing, poor routes, poor playcalling, poor INTs by QB Cavillo. The Montreal coaches want to ball control and throw short passes. QB Cavillo wants to throw the ball every down. Even if Montreal loosens up the play calling, what then? WR Ben Cahoon had had 11 catches last week for 96 yards. No one else was on the radar. RB Mike Imoh had 10 carries for 50 yards. That was pretty much the offense last week. It is obvious to me, stop Cahoon, and Montreal has nothing else they can do. Winnipeg can obviously see that too. I was reading how Montreal has seen fights break out in practices this week. Cavillo is unhappy. The new coaching regime of Popp is off to an awful start. Team Turmoil for sure. Things could very well get worse for Montreal before they get better.

Winnipeg finds itself tied for the top scoring team in the league, and in sole possession of first place after an inspiring 39-39 tie last week with Edmonton. Now, Edmonton’s defense was dreadful, but Winnipeg got a shot of confidence going up and down the field all night long, tying the game in regulation with seconds to go, and surviving double overtime. It was a game that Winnipeg never had the lead, but they still got a point in the standings out of it. Kevin Glenn threw for 416 yards, RB Roberts ran for 4 TDs on 17 carries for 93 yards. Winnipeg had 3 different WRs make 7 catches. A true team effort on offense. Last year, Winnipeg was the top rushing team in the CFL. It’s interesting to see their passing offense really play well, solid passing by Glenn, and their deep WR core making plays. Unfortunately, the Blue Bomber defense was missing in action, as Edmonton piled up a ton of yards, out gaining Winnipeg 560 yards to 543. This was not a complete shock, as Edmonton really committed to protecting QB Ricky Ray, and he was barely touched during the game. Also, the excellent offensive coordinator of British Columbia came over to lead the offense of Edmonton this year, and he has obviously made an immediate impact. However, Saskatchewan had 8 sacks vs Montreal last week, so the talented Winnipeg line should be able to get to Calvillo tonight. A bit troubling is PK Troy Westwood going 1 for 4 in FG attempts. A subplot to tonight is Milt Stegall possibly breaking the CFL record for career TD receptions for Winnipeg.

Before the season started, I expressed an opinion that Winnipeg has a very good chance of winning their division, and that Montreal was likely to struggle on offense early. I see no reason to chance my opinions tonight. It’s possible that Montreal pulls together as a team, and plays over their head tonight. But I don’t think they will. Winnipeg should win this game by double digits. Lay the lumber.

Thanks, guys. I seem to do well with baseball when I am hungover beyond belief. Same thing happened on Sunday. The last two hangover days, I've gone 9-0.

I do like Winnipeg quite a bit tonight, much stronger than any football game from last week. If it doesn't hit, I'll be disappointed. Between AFL and CFL, I'm only 1-3 in my last 4 picks.

get some help you stinkin' addicts!

I'm an addict that picked up a nice chunk of change tonight.

The play of the day, Winnepeg wins and covers 32-23. 3 turnovers in the second half gave me fits, but it's a win. I don't like anything in the CFL as much the rest of the week, but we will see.
