nlgb1 0 Posted August 24, 2007 watching this guy against JAX and Seattle, he brings absolutely nothing to the table. id like to think hes just getting to know the system but he cant even break weak arm tackles. hes a terrible runner in space and has little to no agility. it seems that every play he dives into a pile or runs into the back of one of his lineman. for this reason alone, the outlook for my packers has plummeted. at least our defense looks good
Sho Nuff 720 Posted August 24, 2007 Did we need another thread on him. And I would not call what was attempted last night "weak arm tackles". He was getting hit behind the line on nearly every run. That was one of the most pathetic displays of run blocking I have ever seen.
nlgb1 0 Posted August 24, 2007 yep it does look like the zone blocking in GB is failing miserably, but still jackson hasnt shown anything that warrants him being drafted....let alone 2nd round. he looked terrible in SEA, always looked off balance and showed very little elusiveness. but even in JAX, the idea behind zone blocking is to make a good first cut to find the hole in the line. he always seems to pick the wrong one or just fall to the first tackler that gets to him. HawgWild 0 Posted August 24, 2007 Granted he did only have 20 yards on 11 carries but that was against a very good JAX Def... On the plus side he had a TD and 23 yards on 4 catches... Not great but not too bad either.. I would say he is still the week one starter at this point... Any update on Morency lately?
MTSkiBum 1,626 Posted August 24, 2007 JAX has stiffed a number of rb's alot better than b jackson the past couple years, i am still happy with him as my #5 RB. That first posession though where he missed the easy blitz pickup to allow favre to get sacked 2 steps into his 3 step drop is what worries me.
cotarice12 18 Posted August 24, 2007 I mean, he has value because he's the starter, but for how long? I don't see where he has done anything to prove he deserves the role, it's just that Morency has been out and no one else is really in competition to start. It wouldn't surprise me if the GB rb spot is a revolving door this year.

I would not say it is failing too bad...just yet. They were ok last year...and even Jackson averaged around 4 ypc last week against Seattle. Terrible against Seattle? Not sure I saw the same game as you. The backups looked awful for sure. Jackson did not shine, but did not look terrible. I think the biggest problem was not picking the wrong hole...it was that there was no hole.

Dr. Hardbody 0 Posted August 24, 2007 True dat. You pick the wrong hole, you can get shut out for months. But you have to remember the time tested saying, "its easier to get forgivness, than it is to ask for permission"
alldayarbymojo 0 Posted August 24, 2007 I don't know that BJax was "terrible" yada yada yada. In fact in most fantasy leagues, he would have gotten around the 15-18 point range. Not bad considering he didn't play the whole game and everything is still watered down. But Noah Herron, Vernand Morency, whoever and whatever will not do what he did. Even Favre during the game was loving BJax. As far as rookie rb's are concerned, I would say, Marshawn, BJax, then All Day as far as abilites, situation and injury status. Due to his receiving ability and the fact that Green Bay could be without Driver for a bit..... I would be happy with him as my 4th RB. It's not like there are many better options for a 4th RB anyway. A RB with receiving skills will rarely go scoreless. Show me a draft where he available at the 5th RB slot, and I'll show you an 8 team draft league. My gosh, to get him as your 5th back..... Did he make it to the 8th round?
