Cuse9 129 Posted September 8, 2007 Should I start D. Branch (Sea) or R. Williams (Det). I can't decide between them. Help me please. Thanks This one ain't even close. Branch has never had a 1000 yard season. Roy is coming off a 1300 yd season. Branch is in a run first system. Roy is the #1 option in a pass happy offense. Roy Williams in a landslide!! BiscuitBoy 0 Posted September 8, 2007 Well if you can't start them both I would have to go with Branch. Little known fact but Oakland had the best defense in the league last year when it came to passing yards allowed per game and total passing yards allowed for the season. Oakland's run D sucks....if a team wants to beat Oakland they run the ball. Below are Oaklands defensive stats from last year. Oakland only allowed 2413 total passing yards last year with 150.8 passing yards allowed per game. You can check out complete stats here http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/statistics?s...2&year=2006
washers 0 Posted September 8, 2007 Oakland's D passing stats were so good in terms of yardage, because teams didnt need to throw against them when they were up by 20 points. If you look at it in terms of yards per attempt, youll find a different story for the overhyped pass D. I love branch as a die hard pats fan, but i gotta give the edge to roy williams. redshirtrookie 0 Posted September 8, 2007 williams. can you say mike martz? additionally, calvin johnson and mike furrey take double teams off williams. i'd start roy. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=285353
tazman01 0 Posted September 9, 2007 Hands down Williams every week no matter his matchup - he is a stud, though nice choice to have.

Rechtien 0 Posted September 9, 2007 isn't there a rule about fantasy football that says always start your studs? I don't think anyone has ever mistaken Branch for a stud. Rechtien

I can't believe these morons think Oakland's pass D is good. They don't realize that the the pass defense rankings are based upon YPG and nobody had to pass against them because they could always run (Raiders were ranked 25th in rush defense last year and couple that with the fact that their offense was dead last - who would ever need to pass). Go with Williams. Detroit is one of the few teams that will pass on Oakland when they don't need to - especially with the shaky RB Detroit situation. This is a no-brainer. Soxwhat 0 Posted September 9, 2007 Wayne is my #1 and I have Williams and Branch respectively. With Kitna at QB, I initially had Branch in case of a complete Detroit shutdown, but I have to go with my secondary stud. Riskier, but the payout is worth it. I'll gamble.
