raisedbywolves 0 Posted September 18, 2007 i think i'm gonna give up on trying to land a stud rb to add to my roster 'cause i don't wanna give up harrison, ocho, gore, gates ... so i have this trade on the table with another team. i'm not sure how he feels about it yet, but i think he seems mildly receptive. so, in case this goes through, given my current roster, do you think it's a good trade? i'd be giving up boldin, cutler, calvin johnson, and foster for lamont jordan and roy williams. the way i break it down is like this ... i'd be upgrading boldin to roy williams, making my wr corps even stronger ... i like calvin johnson, but i only intended to use him maybe a couple times all year during bye weeks and such, and i still have braylon and reggie brown (despite his troubles so far) and i'd be able to pick up brandon marshall or james jones or someone like that off waivers after this since i'll have two free spots afterwards just in case. cutler, i don't really need him since i have vince young and kitna, but i might pick up schaub off the waivers or even garcia just to have that third option. foster will essentially be replaced by lamont jordan, which is the other upgrade i was looking for. i wanted to have a high quality third running back and a very good option for bye weeks or flex or even to insert in instead of ap depending on matchups. i think overall i'd be strengthening my team despite giving up some good pieces. what do you all think? thanks for any replies, will reply to yours too. stonecoldsoonerfan 0 Posted September 18, 2007 thanks for answering mine. it seems to me more or less a wash. imho, i think that boldin has been getting and will probably continue to get the looks from leinhart (i took fitz over boldin fyi). if you want a rb (keep in mind that lamont jordan will not be a top back this year, imo) and it isn't a keeper league and considering your bench, i would go for it if it's what you want. hth. raisedbywolves 0 Posted September 18, 2007 i like boldin, but roy williams just seems more consistent. they look for him in the end zone. boldin seems to get a lotta yards every year but not much in the way of td's. and i think lamont has a decent chance to be a top 15-20 back this year, which is all i need him for. the way he's been playing, i think they'll be less quick to have dominic rhodes eat up a lot of his carries. we'll see after the next week, though. I think you are giving up too much. I love Jordan and Williams, I have them both. But it is unclear if Jordan is the #1 back when Rhodes suspension ends (they paid him alot of money not to play) so you may be buying a time share. I am not a Foster fan but I love the other guys you have. See mine http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=288429
raisedbywolves 0 Posted September 18, 2007 well, i mean ... i do think i'm giving up a bit, but with the people i'd be starting every week, i wouldn't be losing a lot as far as who i'd start, so i dunno. i figure it balances out that way, but who knows. BostonPatriots 0 Posted September 18, 2007 Thanks for answering mine. I think it is a good idea, and upgrade at WR and RB. The lions will be passing more then the cardinals, and Jordon is the starter while Foster shares carries.
raisedbywolves 0 Posted September 18, 2007 yeah, that's how i feel. i like boldin, but there's a big difference when you got kitna throwing to you as opposed to leinart, especially in a mike martz run offense. and lamont has looked legit so far and i don't think rhodes will eat into his carries the way he's playing now. so, i think it works out despite what i have to give up but i do wish i could hold onto calvin ... i just don't think the guy would go for it if i put braylon in instead. E7Mike 0 Posted September 18, 2007 I kinda think its 6 of one half a dozen of another, I dont think you need to do it but Williams is a little more consistent.
raisedbywolves 0 Posted September 18, 2007 i just mostly want an upgrade for my third running back, but williams is still a bonus.
#1LionFan 0 Posted September 18, 2007 i just mostly want an upgrade for my third running back, but williams is still a bonus. i THINK YOU ARE GETTING A BETTER DEAL. i WOULD RATHER HAVE LAMONT OVER FOSTER AND ROY OVER BOLDIN ATTHIS POINT. WHO CARES ABOUT CUTLER. CALVIN AS A THROW IN IS NOT GIVING UP TOO MUCH. THANKS FOR THE REPLY EARLIER
dalie 2 Posted September 18, 2007 I would do it, Roy is better than both Boldin and CJ. And if LaMont can keep these #'s or close he will still be used enough to make up (at least) for Foster. Thanks for answering mine
