Big Blue 06 195 Posted September 19, 2007 I've been offered the following trade in a point per reception league: I get Brandon Jacobs I give up Donovan McNabb As I said, it's a point per reception league and ALL TDs are worth 6. I'm not worried about my QB, as I have Eli Manning and Vince Young. Would you make this deal? I'm probably going to bench McNabb until he proves himself, so this wouldn't hurt me unless you think Donovan will explode some time this season. Leave a link and I'll answer yours. TIA! He will be back in a few weeks, and at minimum will get goal line carries while they work him into the lineup. You can get another QB somewhere. McNabb isnt even that great, but he is serviceable. I would make the trade for a guy who has serious upside. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=288769

It's true that he has upside though. I agree with the original post that you're loaded at QB. It'd be good if you could get more than that -- look at McNabb's numbers in the past few years...that is probably what the other owner is looking at. I believe that he can't reach that because he has a downgraded set of options, but he should be better than "serviceable"
ssharpe12 0 Posted September 19, 2007 I think McNabb will pull it around. You don't just all of a sudden suck! Plus, his team is better then the giants and titans combined. Jacobs is an interesting asset to teams. a young RB with potential, but no real proven track record. Would it be the greatest upset in the world if Jacobs has a very medicore season in NY? Probably not. He will also be limited by a weak team. I think you could probably get more value for McNabb if you hold on to him a few more weeks. I always hate tradign for an injured player before he makes a return. With the way coaches are manipualting the injury reports, we are never certain of the severity. rickap7 0 Posted September 19, 2007 I'd do it as soon as he is healthy he will start. McNabb really only have Westbrook for offense his WR stink. Thank for the reply
CNudd 0 Posted September 19, 2007 i would probably do it. you seem to have enough qb depth and at the very least jacobs will get some goalline carries. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=288493
Cuse9 131 Posted September 19, 2007 You get Jacobs who won't be back until next week. We still don't know if he'll be a good back or a piece of crap! I think (hope) he'll be pretty productive. If he can put up the rushing yards that Tiki did and half the receptions he'll be a nice #2 back. Donavan is a great QB. As soon as he stops favoring that knee he'll be fine. Steve Young pointed out how he wasn't stepping into his throws. He has to get comfortable or he'll have a terrible year. I think he'll get it though. McNabb is a top five....top three QB when healthy. It really depends on who your running backs are? Can you afford to roll the dice with Jacobs. If McNabb gets back to his old form he would be much better trade bait down the road. Thanks for checking mine.....I appreciate it.
FreddieMercury 0 Posted September 20, 2007 Thanks for answering mine. If you didn't have the QB depth that you have, I'd probably say no, but with Eli and Young on your bench, I'd go for it. Jacobs will have no problem getting you points in a few weeks.
