Trade question

Recommended Posts

I have been offered Evans for Leonard straight up from the SJax owner. If I make the trade, I would have to fill the hole with Morency or Rhodes this week, but after that my starters would be LT, Lynch, and Graham as flex when needed.

My WR's now are:

Harrison

S Smith

Engram

Welker

B Marshall

My first few thoughts are that Evans, as bad as he has been, has to have more value than Leonard going forward. He just has to get better right? :overhead: Leonards time is running out with maybe just 1-3 games before SJax comes back.

After this week, I don't think it hurts me too much, but this is also a must win game this week. I am currently 2-3.

So what do you think, is this worth it?

I agree with your logic. I also think Losman will get the job back when he returns. I think Evans carries signifigant upside, while Leonard's value will only decrease. Evans did most of his damage in the second half of last season, so you could potentially hit gold. That being said, you have pretty good WR depth already so you don't really need him. I guess you might as well get what you can for Leonard now and then trade Harrison or Smith for another RB if Evans turns it around. 2-3 weeks from now you won't be able to get a backup kicker, let alone a WR with stud potential for Leonard.

Please see mine when you have a minute.

Leonard will get plenty of touches this week with all the Rams WR's out or banged up. However, he will likely face 8 men in the box all day. I think he is mediocre at best.

I think Evans is an improvement for you. I have never been a huge Evans fan, but I would make the trade.

Thanks for mine.

Thanks for the responses guys. I was just going to pull the trigger and found this:

Steven Jackson - RB - STL - Oct. 11 - 4:47 p.m. ET

The St. Louis Post Dispatch reports Steven Jackson (groin tear) may be out until Week 10.

At 0-5, the Rams may avoid risking Jackson by using him before their Week 9 bye. Although Jackson did some running on the side Wednesday, beat reporter Bill Coats writes that the running back's return is "far from imminent." Brian Leonard has an unfavorable matchup against Baltimore this Sunday, but things get easier at Seattle and versus Cleveland prior to the off week.

 :wall:

I personally think you should hold on to Leonard, if all you are getting is Evans. SJax is one bad juke, or cut away from re-injuring that groin when he does come back. you have good depth at WR, and hurting a little this week at RB.

I'd hold on that trade this week, and see what you can get out of Leonard a little later down the line..............

Just my opinion.......

Thanks for mine...

Thanks for mine..... I think I would hold on this trade for a week, you need a win and you should be able to still get Evans next week or comprable/better on from someone else in need of a RB.

Leonard is going against the Ravens this week so he probably wont do much anyway and Evans cant be any worse. The guy was a top 15 wr at the start of the seaon and chances are he'll produce for you at some point. While Sjax could come back and then get re-injured, he may not and you'd probably end up cutting Leonard anyway if SJax was back healthy. I'd do it.

I wouldn't trade anything for Evans unless it's a deeper league.

He's an auto bench for at least the next 2 weeks and even if he returns to form he's only like an average #2 receiver. Right now, his downside (worthlessness) exceeds his upside (slight worth) by a sh*tload and I would keep the starting (for now) RB.
