Another #1 Bites the Dust!

Recommended Posts

Blah, Blah, Blah, BIG 10 WEAK....

Maybe so, maybe not..... But , you can't tell me the Big 10 schools beat up on each other.....

You can't?

So UW beating Iowa, who beat Illinois...who beat both PSU and Wisconsin is not beating each other up?

I hope you meant that the other way.

Stomped?

2006 Capital One Bowl - Wisconsin beats Arkansas, 17-14

2005 Capital One Bowl - Wisconsin beats Auburn, 24-10

Those could hardly be called "stomping".

Why not go back 3 years? Oh yeah, that's because UGA "stomped" Wisconsin 24-21 in the Citrus bowl that year (2004).

Or 4 years? That's right. Auburn "stomped" Wisconsin 28-14 in the Music City Bowl that year (2003).

And FYI, regarding the 2005 Capital One Bowl - #7 Auburn got SCREWED that year by having to go to that lousy bowl in the first place. They SHOULD have gone to the Fiesta Bowl (BCS) that year. But #8 ND got selected (despite a worse ranking), just because they're ND. So a #7 Auburn team doesn't get up for the prospect of playing against #21 Wisconsin, after just getting snubbed by the BCS...YET AGAIN! Oooooh, shocker! ND went on to lose its 8th straight bowl game that year.....good choice, BCS!

Nonetheless, Florida beat Ohio State 41-14, now THAT is a stomping!

HTH

And Wisconsin should have been in a BCS bowl last year but didn't. Instead they beat Arkansas.

Don't give me this...they did not get up for the game. Ask Tubberville about that team speed Wisconsin had too.

Oh, I agree... just as the MAC schools beat up on each other, and the Southern conference schools, and every other team that doesn't field cheerleaders. The difference is that you won't find a team as utterly atrocious as Northwestern or Minnesota playing in the SEC or PAC 10 this year.

Umm...Stanford...Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt. Yes you will find those teams in all conferences.

When Ohio St. actually plays an out-of-conference team ranked in the top 75, hell will freeze over.

They went to Washington (that mighty pac-10 team and a hard-ass place to visit) and won.

They have played Texas the two previous years out of conference.

But your comment about LSU gets back to the original point. If Ohio State had to play teams like Auburn, Florida, Arkansas, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and yes, Kentucky (this year) week-in and week-out, there is absolutely no way they would end the season undefeated. It's just impossible.

And if any SEC school would have to play Wisconsin, OSU, Michigan, PSU, Michigan State, and Illinois week in and week out, they probably won't go undefeated either.

Believe what you want to believe. Wisconsin was up for that game, Auburn wasn't. Or do you REALLY think that the #21 team was better than the #7 team at the end of that regular season?

Yes, they completely dominated both lines of scrimmage... They had the ball ready to score another touchdown down at the 5 at the end of the game but mercifully called off the dogs. (Very classy  )

should have been 31-10 but anybody watching the game knew it should have been 56-10 :bandana:

same hom0s like you that were screaming UW/Big Ten sucks before the game went into hiding after the game like a Lions fan in November

Oh, but we weren't trying   :

I used to say that to my brother when I was five years old after he whooped my ass in basketball in the backyard

These guys don't study film and practice 80 hours a week, risk injury and chances to impress national scouts to enhance their draft position to embarrass themselves on national TV on a new years day bowl when everybody in the world is watching by not trying....

It's cute that you'd want to think that :overhead:

Oh, but we weren't trying   :

Never said they weren't trying.

But like I said, they obviously weren't up for that game. Believe it or not, it happens. Ever heard of a letdown? I guess being a Wisconsin fan, you probably haven't. :dunno:

And nice how you generalize a whole fanbase based on the actions of a few. All teams have crappy fans. Being from Wisconsin, you should know that.

I really think that Wisconsin team was better than that Auburn team and proved it on the field.

Thinking about how the Badgers were left out of the BCS bowl games last year (some !@#$%^& BCS rule that a maximum of ONLY 2 teams from the same conf. are allowed... has that ever happened to a SEC team?!), and had to play Arkansas... they did not have a letdown, (or as you mentioned: "weren't up for the game"... ) why not? cause they REALLY were a very good team last year! Any team having a let-down just because they weren't invited to their "desired" bowl game, just shows their class, or lack of it! ...unfortunately, this year the Badgers defense really sucks! but both their losses have been to Big 10 teams... a win is a win is a win, and every national champion has probably squeaked out an ugly win in order to get there... hate to say it, but i do hope OSU continues to "take care of business"

uhhh...last i remember, the games are played on the field, not in the rankings.

using your same logic, do you REALLY think UF (#2 team last year) was better than the #1 team at the end of the regular season? (not rolling my eyes!)

hence, the saying: "on any given sat./sunday"

so to answer your question, yes, not only did i believe that... but EVERYONE who watched the game realized that!

blue skies,
