ramblin'wreck 0 Posted September 5, 2008 We start 3 WRs in our 0.5PPR league. I am set with WR1 in Braylon Edwards, now I need to fill WR2 and WR3 with some of these so-so choices since Marshall is out this week. Which 2 will you play this week? 1. Kevin Walter (HOU) vs PIT 2. Ronald Curry (OAK) vs DEN 3. Antonio Bryant (TB) vs NO 4. Derrick Mason (BAL) vs CIN Help me choose 2 WRs and I will help you in return..

Derrick Mason (BAL) vs CIN Help me choose 2 WRs and I will help you in return.. wow i hope this is a deep league. my usual league is PPR, but i've never done .5 PPR so here's my best advice. I would go with Kevin Walter first off, despite the matchup against Pitt because Schaub is a better QB than russell, garcia, and flacco. after that it's a tough choice between Curry and Mason, and i wouldn't consider Bryant. Galloway is the man there. between curry and mason, i guess i would give the tie breaker to Mason vs. Cinci because of the CB matchup. Denver has champ bailey and dre bly, and crappy russell throwing, so i figure they will run the ball a ton. Baltimore should run too, but Cinci CBs aren't nearly as good as bailey and bly. this also makes sense given the .5 PPR because Mason usually catches more than Curry... he had 100 receptions last year with crap at QB too. So: Edwards Walter Mason Here's my question. For my ten team league, I have the following requirements: 2 RB, 3 WR, flex. I've got Steven Jackson and MJD for RB1 and 2. For WR i have TO, Santonio Holmes, and Ocho Cinco. for the flex spot my options are: Deangelo Williams @SD Selvin Young @Oakland Chris Johnson vs. Jax Vincent Jackson vs. Carolina The scoring format is 1 PPR and 10 yards/point for both rushing and receiving. Thanks for your input.. Out of this group I would definitely decide between DeAngelo and Selvin. Chris Johnson will be great, but not yet, not in the first game.. VJax is decent, but there are too many options in SD. So, between DeAngelo and Selvin.. I would lean a little bit toward SElvin Young. Shannahan said Selvin is the man for now, so why not ride him while you can.
Belushi 9 Posted September 6, 2008 Kind of ugly, although having Marshall in there will make it look allot better. I'd say Mason for one. Cincy's D is still terrible, and I read that Flacco and Mason were developing a rapport together. Mason caught 100 balls last year with crap at QB, so expect him to catch allot more this year (for poor average and few TD's). Second I'll say Bryant. He's starting, and Galloway's banged up. The NO secondary still stinks, and this could be a high scoring game. Don't expect allot, but he may be able to get 50yds and a TD.
rottytiny 7 Posted September 6, 2008 Mason and I'd roll the dice with Bryant, could be a shootout. Good luck.
bgibjr 0 Posted September 6, 2008 I'd go w/Mason and Bryant for the simple fact that both teams should be involved in shootouts and both could see a lot of looks.
montana 89 Posted September 6, 2008 edwards mason walter
jgilkey513 6 Posted September 6, 2008 edwards mason walter don\'t know about Walter but Mason always chews up yards against the Bengals (Cincy homer here). In typical Mason fashion, he rarely scores, but given your scoring format I think you need to play him.
mrgymrat 0 Posted September 6, 2008 Ouch, tough choices. You'll be happy to get Marshall back next week. Gotta go: 2. Walter 3. Mason - as stated Cincy DST was terrible last year I would never start Antonio Bryant... BRYANTS I WOULD START BEFORE ANTONIO ---------------------------------------------------- 1. Kobe Bryant 2. Anita Bryant 3. Bear Bryant (RIP) 4. Bryant Gumball (he really is a gumball, isn't he?)

tazman01 0 Posted September 6, 2008 Thanks for mine, tough choices. Mason and Bryant, Pitt def is the tougher matchup and forces me to lean away from walter.
vegemite 0 Posted September 6, 2008 I go walter and mason in a ppr I had mason last year and lookat his QBs, he caught 102 passes I also like Walter because Houston will have to pass. bblank1975 0 Posted September 7, 2008 Mason and coinflip Walter/Curry. I am leaning Walter because he has a better QB.
