Does EPSN, CBS, YAHOO change stats 5 days later?

STAT UPDATE: The Elias Sports Bureau took away a Browns sack and gave Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger a pass reception from Pittsburgh's 10-6 win Sunday night.

The sack was originally credited to the Browns' Shaun Smith. The play was ruled a sack for a 7-yard loss. After reviewing the videotape, Elias changed the play to a successful pass for Roethlisberger because the ball came out of his hand, struck a teammate in the back and rebounded to the quarterback, who was tackled by Smith.

The ruling takes away one of the Browns' three sacks and changes Roethlisberger's passing statistics from 12-of-19 to 13-of-20 for 176 yards. It also lowers his NFL-leading passer rating from 136.3 to 133.9.

They continually change the stats days after the games end. This affects waiver wire priority, wins/losses etc.

I have had enough of this site...what do other sites do when Elias Sports Bureau changes a stat??

Yeah making sure all the stats are correct is a big pet peeve of mine too.

There comes a point where you have to say the correct stats don't matter. Waiver wire priority is based on total points. Trades made after win/losses may not have happened.

It affects too many decisions that are not reversable when the stats are corrected 3-4-5 days later.

RTSports has nothing to do with it. The Elias Sports Bureau - official scorer for the NFL - made the change yesterday. So to answer your question yes, ESPN, CBS, and Yahoo all made the change.

But were fantasy scores affected?

Not true. This is what Sportsline does with late changes.

"Following the completion of each week's games, all statistics and point totals are verified, and corrections are made where necessary. However, all statistics and point totals for the week are considered FINAL as of Wednesday. If a stat correction is announced for the previous weekend's games on Wednesday or later, it will not be included in our statistics and your official Fantasy scoring will be based on the original statistic."

Yeah. What a buncha' b.s. Who does the NFL think they are messing with fantasy outcomes?

I think you should start a petition, make a few phone calls, and get the NFL straightened out.

I think you are missing the point. Of course the Elias Sports Bureau should get it right and correct/change any statistic if need be. The question is, at what point should the scores become FINAL in our fantasy leagues. Is it by Wednesday like in CBS, or is it by the start of next weeks game, or can it be changed retroactively at any time. i.e. 6 weeks later a fantasy score can be changed (which is crazy).

That is the question. Personally I feel the way CBS does it is the correct way. It gives them a window for corrections but after that it is to late and we move on.

Both RTS and MFL changed. I don't have a problem with it as the scores should reflect the stats. It might be a few days late but I haven't seen it happen after the next week's games have started.
