Browns: Browns reject Vikings' offer for Quinn

10/19/08 08:36 AM

THE NEWS

The Browns have reportedly rejected an offer from the Vikings for quarterback Brady Quinn, according to the Pioneer Press.

Our View

The Vikings offered the Browns their 2009 and 2010 first-round draft picks for Quinn, but Cleveland said no after consideration.

WTF Cleveland, Vikings give you an offer that makes you look like geniuses for having two francise QB's signed to huge deals and you let them off the hook.

How many picks did the vikes give up for jared allen? and they were going to give up 2 #1's for Quinn?? Not the greatest way to build a team -- are they really that close to championship caliber?

Quinn is a local and he going to fill the stands in Cleveland some day. Will one of those two first round picks be able to do the same? I doubt it.

have you seen the 2009 2010 draft classes coming up through college (especially at QB)? Quinn is still an unknown when it comes to cutting it in the NFL. There was a reason so many teams passed on him. Local boy yeah yeah but they would get over it, Greenbay fans got over it when they "gave" Brett Farve away.

With the classes coming out in those years...and already having Anderson.

Ouch...what are the Browns doing?

Quinn is an unknown with two NFL training camps under his belt. You're right. The safer bet would be to waste another first round pick on a quarterback. :headbanger:

Has this been verified? If yes, then the Browns are idiots.... They're not close to being a superbowl contender and they could use the extra depth. Brady Quinn in unproven (just like the first round qb you could get next year to replace him). Vikings should have a middle of the pack record this season (next season as well). Two middle first round picks = opportunity lost.

Winning will sell tickets in Cleveland, not Quinn.

Quinn is an unknown because he hasnt been put into pressure situations and had to check off plays or read exotic D's, he hasn't been knocked down and asked to do the same play again, I could give you a million of these game situations he hasn't had to deal with in practice. He'll have 2 years of backup duty at the completion of this year which does make him marginally more valueable than another unknown coming strait out of college but not 2 1st round picks worth.
