Thigpen or Cassel

Recommended Posts

haha, I dont know.

I keep expecting Thigpin to crash & burn, but he's done surprisingly well.

I picked him up in my league when QB's I had got benched and injured, and have been riding the wave because there have been no other QB's available in my league waiver wire. (12 team league, start 2)

Cassell has the better team around him, so based on this, I expect he is the safer play, but Thigpin has been getting Rushing and Receiving yards from various trick plays or by scrambling when he finds nobody open. This seems to boost his value substantially, but you are at greater risk of injury too.

(anyone who has had Vick and McNabb in the recent past knows the risk/rewards we are talking about)

so I guess my advice is: If you are playing a weaker opponent and you need safety more than you need anything, then I'd go with Cassel.

If you are playing a stronger team and you need to take a chance, I'd go with Thigpin.

the only thing that is killing me here is that last time cassell played Miami he played absolutely terribly and got me somewhere around the ballpark of 10 points.

I don't know either. I have to choose between Favre and Cassel. Thanks for the insight on how Cassel played miami last time. If you put a gun to my head, I would go with Cassel.

After picking up Thigpen and using him for the past 3 weeks (with great results), I'm ready to sit him down against Oakland. I may play McNabb or Eli.
