Ray_T 604 Posted December 1, 2008 I have done what this owner is doing, and it worked out well for me. If he knows he will make the playoffs, and wants to "manipulate" who he plays in them, then fine. He deserved the right to do so, by making the playoffs! And - look at Indy sitting their starters last year - and Tampa, etc. The pros do it, too!!! Yeah, but the pros can actually injure their stars by playing them. You cannot. FeelingMN 273 Posted December 1, 2008 Isn't this exactly what happened last year with Cleveland/Tennessee/Indy? Cleveland was in with a Titans' loss, and they had to be salivating at the Titans' matchup with the Colts. Except the Colts rested their players and TEN got the last playoff spot. Didn't Cleveland fans b!tch and moan because of it? If the team in question (the tanker) ends up losing next week, but would have won if he lost this week, the league should buy the guy some beer or something. He was trying to set his team up for the easiest path to the championship but folks cried because it wasn't fair. Yet these same focks probably won't bat an eye if the dude loses next week, as he feared he might. The dude should get some sort of recognition for placing the 'integrety of the league' ahead of personal success. Something tells me that's not the way this league rolls though.
