titans&bucs&bearsohmy! 2,745 Posted February 2, 2009 As to the issue of Phelps, I make the following vow. I will never, ever, buy any product produced by any company who pulls its sponsorship from Phelps over this. I don't want to support any company that wants to punish a 23 year old single childless man from smoking a little ganj. I urge you all to follow suit. wiffleball 4,797 Posted February 2, 2009 Personally, I'd just like Mike Phelps to eat a diick and die already. This focking moron's been galavanting all over the place, going to parties, basically doing the whole Paris Hilton thing. He 'wrote' a focking BOOK for Chrissake! If you've ever heard this stupid focker speak, you'd realize he's likely never even READ a focking book. And seriously, it's the Olympics - about as irrelevant as it gets. People go to the Olympics like smart people go to Grad School; It's just one more way to avoid getting a focking JOB. And it's swimming. Swimming isn't a 'sport'. Swimming is what you do so you don't DROWN. Swimming's about as much a sports as "stop drop and roll" when you're on fire. This little priick should take his 6 pack abs, his tiny little speedo, eat a focking pizza, get a real job and STFUP already.
surferskin 31 Posted February 2, 2009 It's so obvious now. Legalize it! If it's good enough for the greatest Olympian of all time, then it's good enough for the rest of us.
Snoopy1 0 Posted February 2, 2009 Phelps has to absolutely know who took that picture...camera phone probably, had to be about 3 or 4 feet away...probably an opening for a posse member today.
akaoni 0 Posted February 3, 2009 This argument is retarded. I am a lawyer. Will somebody please explain to me the difference between "decriminalized" and "legal"? Because, as I recall from law school, anything that isn't expressly prohibited by statute is therefore legal. Are you advocating a system where it is still illegal on the books, but the cops just look the other way? Because then you'd have all kinds of capricious enforcement (I.e. the black kids get arrested, the phish fan doesn't) problems. This is a pretty standard position in the marijuana legalization/decriminalization discussion. Essentially, the decriminalization position is that penalties for possession and sales of MJ should be minimalized or eliminated as opposed to outright legalization which would allow commercial sales, taxation etc (like tobacco). I think it's summed up well here.

I think it's summed up well here. I understand the argument, I just think its stupid, and puts too much power in the hands of cops to selectively enforce the law. Legalize it, completely. You can shove your medical marijuana, and your decriminalization, that's not good enough. I won't be happy till they sell Marlboro Greens at the friggin gas station.
