GettnHuge 2 Posted July 14, 2009 Why is it cameramen have such trouble following the ball? Every farking night if you watch baseball highlights it seems a 3rd to a harf of the homers the camera tries to follow it and just ends up looking at the stands then the ball falls into the picture. Even here at the HR Derby where all cameras are looking up, ready and waiting for homers...they keep missing it. But then you have golf, with a much smaller ball, traveling twice as fast, even with a white cloudy background... those fockers somehow follow it, even zoomed in, all the way through it's flight. At times they do miss it, it's because the camera was up at the green and couldn't even see the player hit. Why?

listen2me 23 1,952 Posted July 14, 2009 How do these guys get tired, and how is it this big factor? They are hitting 5-11 HRs a time, and they get 10 outs. That is 15-21 swings of the bat, and still just stand there and take a bunch of pitches. Then they go sit down, have a gatorade and have little kids wipe them with towels for an hour before they get up again. Talk about not a sport

Sho Nuff 720 Posted July 14, 2009 I usually try to DVR it and fast forward through most of the crap...watch it in record time in just a bit of fast forward speed...that also cuts out the Berman banter. What I don't get...is why the fock ESPN schedules "coverage" for 2 hours every year...and every focking year it takes 2 hours just to get through the first round. GettnHuge 2 Posted July 14, 2009 and to up this a bit, their stupid 'glow' technology for the homers sucked. wobbling all over the place like a knuckler. Fox did better following a puck and that was over a decade ago! Hell, one of Fielder's last shots it was lit up with a green streak way up in the air...but the ball had just hit the stands well below it. the golf channel has a better highlighted shot tracker than espn. BMoney 0 Posted July 14, 2009 Berman kept firing off loads all over joe morgan everytime pujols hit a homer....OMG....WAAAAAY BACK...... into the 3rd row....he hit 3 pretty deep...thats about it.... it was a prince-cruz party and thats it.... but when prince was slamming..they decided to talk to pujols about his future drug suspension or whatever it was they babbled about... even when erin andrews interviewed prince, it was all about howard and pujols..who cares about those 2 goofs? untuck em, erin.... and the kids that field the flyballs in the outfield must be right off the short bus...sign a waiver, junior.... i want to see the hr derby done like the old days....1 vs another...9 innings...no chris berman..some low key guy and let them hit... 2 finalists go at it the night before the all star game... as for the rest of the time...a skills challenge of some sort... lets see players throw at targets...hit at targets...whatever... the golf technology is awesome...from the blimp, they zoom in and you watch it sail....espn needs 20 cameras and no one catches anything...ozzie threw out the 1st pitch and they didnt even show it all the way to molina..wtf...
