The Grand Master 0 Posted October 7, 2009 Just like the topic says. I'm looking for opinions. Which player do you see having the better stats in a non-PPR league. Turner's schedule is brutal with some bright spots here and there. His Wk15 and Wk16 games are NYJ and Buffalo respectively. Moss's schedule looks more friendly and sees Buffalo and Jacksonville in those playoff weeks. Turner's pros: He's guaranteed to get the ball near 20 times every game and always gets the goal-line carries. Even against good Ds he's likely to put up a TD. Turner's Cons: He's continued his habit of not doing well against good defenses and hasn't had that breakout game yet this year. Moss's pros: These seem obvious. Moss's cons: Waiting on Brady to get back to form. As a WR his targets can vary by week, though he'll always see a good amount of looks. So what's your opinion on these two elite FF players
RSersen 0 Posted October 7, 2009 I'm looking for opinions. You should give us the rest of your roster so we can tell you if it's a good trade or not.
Terpnut 5 0 Posted October 7, 2009 Moss, he'll be consistent and the upside is there as Brady finds his groove. I live in Atlanta (although I'm a skins fan) and Turner is more a function of the schedule. He'll do well against bad teams and not so well against the good teams. It was his MO last season and in watching him he looks a little slower this season.
JakeTrain72 0 Posted October 7, 2009 It's close. So I tend to lean RB in those areas. Non PPR league pushes Moss's value down. The Pats haven't been throwing deep. Now with Welker back, Brady a month in to shake off the rust, RBs finding their roles in the offense I do think the long balls will come. However, Turner is going to see a lot of carries and Gonzo and White are enough to keep defenses honest. I don't think you say with confidence that Moss will score more TDs than Turner going forward. I'd hang my hat on Turner.
Laurence Maroney's Nuts 2 Posted October 7, 2009 Once Welker is 100% healthy, Moss will be the #2 receiver on that team, and maybe even the #3 or #4 depending on the emergence of Edelman and Galloway. And with Brady's propensity to sling the rock to Ben Watson, Moss may be the #5 receiver. And with Kevin Faulk vulturing receptions, well, let's just say things don't look good for Moss. Now Turner on the other hand -- he has the constant threat of superstud-in-the-waiting, aka Jerious Norwood constantly breathing down his neck and impressing the coaches. Norwood is due. Annnnnnnnny minute, Norwood will start cutting into Turner's workload. (Taps imaginary wrist watch)...... Annnnnnny minute now. And you cant rule out Ovie Mughelli considering the Falcons have been leaning on him in the redzone. So you should probably make the trade. nobody 2,672 Posted October 8, 2009 I think Moss scores more points than Turner from here on out, but that doesn't really answer your question. You can't look at trades in a vaccuum. You have to look at the total net change. Take a team like this in a 2 rb/3 wr starting league for example Turner, Ray Rice, Ryan Grant Andre Johnson, Dwayne Bowe and Sims-Walker You make that trade and the new starting lineup might look like Rice/Grant Moss/AJ/Bowe if you don't it looks like Turner/Rice AJ/Bowe/Walker So the question in this case isn't necessarily who is better out of Moss and Turner but who's the better out of Turner/Sims-Walker and Moss/Grant I that case I wouldn't make the trade. If my runningbacks were something like Turner/PThomas/Rice I would definitely make it.
