Sparties seem to have a hard time with the N'western spread. Sucks Winston the criminal is out, he had a good first cut. Mack Daddy 0 Posted October 17, 2009 Heading out soon to watch my Spartans take on Northwestern, so small card. I'll throw in some late games when I get back from EL, but here is my card as of now. Michigan St. -13.5 (-120) *bit of a homer pick, but NW has not looked good this year at all. Nichol and Winston out, but they shouldn't need them to hopefully put a beating on the pussycats from NW Miss St. -4 (-120) Texas Tech +10.5 Minnesota +17 USC -

They've covered every game, getting a healthy % of action, and yet the line keeps going down. Washington looks trappy too. Iowa is rumored to be suffering with the flu, so that line move makes sense. I would love to take NIU here, but worry about playing against the Rockets in the Glass Bowl. I'm not TL, but for what it's worth, the Toledo QB Opelt hurt his shoulder in the previous game, which contributed to their bad loss to Western Mich. With Toledo giving up 400 to 500 yards a game, No Ill balanced offense is going to be hard for Toledo to slow down, especially the punishing running game vs the soft Toledo run defense. Opelt might play, but not sure how effective he is going to be. The home field for Toledo isn't as strong as it used to be since the program has been down for a few years. American Chewy 98 Posted October 17, 2009 30-37-1 -24.51 units for the rest of the season i'm just gonna play 3-5 big plays then a couple of small big 12 plays to go with it. TEXAS TECH +10.5 1 unit This should be a great game to watch. Tech's huge offensive line against what might be the best DL in the country. why is everyone on nebraska and why did this line jump so much? I haven't been real impressed with Zach Lee. He has a solid line and running game and yet can't seem to get his team in the endzone with any consistency. I liked what I saw out of Tech's backup QB last week, he's very accurate (though faced no real pressure). unless nebra gets some def or ST scores, i'd be surprised if they ran away with this one, game looks like a tossup to me. KANSAS STATE +7.5@-140 1 unit this line is purely representative of tech's beatdown of my cats last week. tech's offensive line flat out destroyed kstate's def line and kstate couldn't run the ball and control clock like they normally like to do. a&m doesn't have a good run defense so it should be back to normal for the ksu offense. a&m does have strong offensive numbers but they inflated those against very poor teams. against a legit road opponent in arkansas, a&m was exposed. its a home game, the talent disparity isn't big, I'm catching points, hell, Kstate won at college station last season--are these teams much different? If ron prince can do it, I'm sure Snyder can. COLORADO +10.5@-120 1 unit this is a play against kansas' defense more than anything. kansas has shown the ability to give up yards and points to any and all offenses this year which will always make it tough to cover DD's. couple that with what looks to be an improving colorado defense and a much needed changeup at QB for cu, I like for the buffs to hang around and possibly win here. plus, kansas has a big look-ahead to oklahoma and has rarely had success in boulder. colorado still has plenty to play for if they can hold serve at home in their big 12 games. MINN +17.5@-115 4 units penn st hasn't been covering these big lines at home and minny is better than most of those scrub teams penn st played earlier HAWAII +7.5@-105 4 units pressure is on idaho as the big fav now after covering all their dog roles. no reason hawaii won't be in this game with an above avg chance to win. UAB +22.5 4 units what does ole miss have left to play for? what a downer game for them after their sec schedule...can they get up for uab? uab has enough to hang around and ole miss hasn't put many teams away this year. CENT FLA +14@-130 4 units pissed i didnt put this in last night, i kept thinking maybe it would get back to 14.5 then i wake up and its 13. but i wanted to play it so bad i'll spend the extra .8 units here. this is UCF's superbowl and its at home. this game has been close in recent years, sure miami is improved but UCF isn't dog meat, they have a decent offense, enough to hang around. SMU +7@-102 4 units smu still underated and not getting respect from lines makers yet despite 3-1 ATS so far. june jones is turning this team around, they matchup well with navy. smu should be able to score some points they have a solid adv in the passing game where navy has struggled to defend teams. think SMU has a great chance to win outright, the points are a nice gift. wanted to play utah st but line dropped too far this week GL ME. and everyone else i guess. unless you are against me. I didn't realize that Opelt was hurt. If he doesn't play (or is limited) they are a completely different team. I was leaning NIU anyway, but with a limited Opelt it is a definite play for me. And yes, you are right, the Glass Bowl isn't the advantage that it used to be. I grew up in Toledo and remember the days when it was a big advantage. Not the case anymore. Thanks. phillybear 365 Posted October 17, 2009 So, I'm watching ESPN scoreboard out of the corner of my eye as I'm flipping channels. And lo and behold, Marshall has a 5th and 15 vs West Virginia. What? I refreshed my browser. 5th and 15. Time to refresh all my drinks and forget what I just saw. It's a government trap. Where is my tin foil? They picked up a yard. It's now 6th and 14.
