Trade Advice

Any thoughts on this trade?

My nephew is offering me Beanie Wells and Mike Sims-Walker for LeSean McCoy and Hakeem Nicks. I have been thinking of shopping S. Smith (nyg) or Nicks (nyg) for an equivalent WR just to add some schedule diversity for my #2 and #3 WRs, although I was not that anxious to move on this before week 1. My initial thought was that this trade is a slight downgrade for me at both positions. However, I have seen some rankings that show these to be two slight upgrades. All of which makes me think that this trade is probably pretty fair, and it would accomplish my objective of getting me off the Smith vs Nicks decision each week for start or bench.

On the other hand... there's these few things..

1) Beanie just got injured on Thursday. Word is that it is no big deal, but why go looking for trouble until we know for sure?

2) My gut tells me that McCoy >> Wells and that Nicks = Sims-Walker. Even with uninjured Beanie, I still worry about Hightower role and Arizona in general.

3) Nicks for Sims-Walker feels more like a wash, although it washes well for me to carry S. Smith (nyg) with MSW (jac) instead of teammate Nicks for schedule diversity. But then again, I kinda think that Nicks has more upside than MSW. I suppose that I could counter with just the WR trade, but I think my nephew's objective in the trade is to land McCoy.

Aside from that, I was pretty happy with my draft. I dropped my last draft pick Marcedes Lewis to pick up Mike Williams WR (sea) when the Houshmandzadeh news hit. I like Whodey in Baltimore... someone else for Flacco to throw to

:D

Along with my idea to trade off one of my NYG WRs, are there any other comments that you might have for my team?

My team is in my signature and if it matters, here is my nephew's team...

QB Aaron Rodgers (GB)

WR Anquan Boldin (Bal)

WR Mike Sims-Walker (Jac)

WR Jeremy Maclin (Phi)

WR Sidney Rice (Min)

WR Darren McFadden (Oak)

WR Kevin Walter (Hou)

RB DeAngelo Williams (Car)

RB Beanie Wells (Ari)

RB Kenny Britt (Ten)

RB Mike Bell (Phi - RB)

TE Owen Daniels (Hou)

TE Jermaine Gresham (Cin)

DEF Tennessee

DEF Philadelphia

K David Akers (Phi)

I don't think I would make this trade. I like the players you have better than what you would be getting. Hold on to Nicks and McCoy. Let them have a great first couple of weeks and then look to get more out of them. Wells is already banged up, why take on that when you don't need too?

I like McCoy over Wells personally. McCoy is a clear-cut #1 in philly whereas Wells status is uncertain. I also think Arizona will be playing from behind a lot this year, and they generally just like to throw the ball.

MSW and Nicks are a wash IMO for you, although I like Nicks better in your situation I understand it sucks to have your 2 and 3 wrs off the same team.

Don't do it. I dont like Smith and Nicks together, but if there offence is anything like last year they should both have good years.

Thanks for the help all. I turned him down. I may go back to him after week 1 for a MSM-Hicks deal. Perhaps he will go for that to enjoy Hicks upside (& volatility?) while I get a chance to pick MSM or SSmith (nyg) based on opposition. AJ starts each week, and I expect my Flex to be RB 90% of the time.
