Teetai09 0 Posted October 26, 2011 I have 1 team offering Desean for Colston straight up and another offering Stevie Johnson straight up in a ppr league with 3 bonus points for a 100 yard game. My current receiving core is Welker,Colston,J Nelson, and Torrey Smith. The good thing is Desean and Stevie have had there bye weeks and Colston's is week 11. Would you do either of these deals? TxTech9 5 Posted October 26, 2011 i probably wouldnt. Teams are gonna start double covering graham which should leave colston open more and the saints throw more than any other team. Desean doesnt have as much value in ppr cause he'll get only a few receptions, usually they are for big yards but hes kind of a hit or miss guy. If you do it id say do it for johnson cause they are lacking at receiver at the moment... they have spiller playing slot. so theres potential for johnson there
Ramaniac 0 Posted October 27, 2011 D-Jax has been too inconsistent this year but Stevie Johnson has been a solid producer all year long and should continue to be Fitz's go-to guy in the red zone going forward.. Brees spreads the ball around a lot so Colston's upside is outweighed by Johnson's IMO so I'd pull the trigger on that deal if I were you.
Bring Back the LA Rams 0 Posted October 27, 2011 I would only consider trading Colston for Johnson - and I'd only do that if you feel like Buffalo's schedule at the end of the season is far more favorable than NO as far as receivers go. Regardless, I think Colston will be the most consistent PPR receiver week in, week out because of the NO offense and if it were me I'd hold tight. There's a reason people are trying to pick up Colston right now.
CapsFan1 0 Posted October 27, 2011 I own both Colston and Stevie and I think I would probably trade Stevie before Colston right now. Nice problem to have though. I read somewhere that the Saints are rolling with more 2 wide receiver sets and that Colston is out there for almost all of them. That means that most of the time when the ball comes out of Brees hands it is headed for either Colston, Graham or Sproles with Meachem and Moore diving up the scraps. With as much as the Saints chuck it that is a great situation for Colston. I think he is a top 10 receiver going forward. Fitz worries me a little with Stevie's value. Did you see the interception he threw trying to hit Stevie near the goal line against the Giants. Stevie had his man beat but Fitz underthrew the ball for an interception. Stevie should still be a solid top 15 WR but I like Colston's upside more.
Jonathanc5 0 Posted October 27, 2011 I agree with most here, I would trade for Stevie but not Desean.
SexyRexy 60 Posted October 27, 2011 i own stevie and desean (non ppr). its a nice tandem for me. i've got to say the last few weeks (barring last cuz of bye) desean has been a very good performer for me. he's put a string of performances together and they seem to be finding him more consistently. as for stevie, i acquired him a few weeks ago and he's been quiet since i got him. but he did have a lingering groin issue which coming out of the bye is reportedly taken care of. really depends if you need to make a move at WR? DeSean can get you big points but less consistently, and stevie is more consistent.
polecatt 478 Posted October 27, 2011 I would take Colston. He's had some big games as of late and on the Saints I don't see that stopping.
