Keeper Help - Foster, Lynch, Morris, Ridley, Ryan...

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I need a little help. 10 team league. 6 pts all touchdowns. 1pt/10yds rushing; 1pt/10yds receivfing; 1pt/25 yds passing. Bonuses for long tds receiving passing and rushing. 1 point per 5 catches.

I get to keep up to three players, max of two of any one position. I give up the pick for the round they were picked in last year.

Options are:

Foster (rd 1)

Andre Johnson (rd. 2)

Lynch (rd 3)

Ridley (rd 7)

Matt Ryan (rd 9)

Witten (rd 11)

Morris (final round, got on waivers last year)

I have no real idea of what players will be kept. Some teams have three easy keepers, others have none, and others have toss ups.

I pick 5 out of 10, but I am fairly sure 2 of those ahead of me will keep first rounders. So I'll probably be 3rd overall.

I am leaning towards keeping Foster, Ryan and Morris, but may go with Lynch instead of Foster. Seems though if I give up Foster, I am basically just giving him away to a guy ahead of me with no guarantee of even getting first round talent in the first round. (Witten is also damn good value in 11th)

What do y'all think?

Thanks, and leave a link so I can weigh in on your problems.

I personally like keeping Foster, Lynch and Morris. You can get a quarterback and maybe even get Ryan back. You lock up 3 of the best RBS which makes you really solid. You still have a round 2 pick that you can take a top WR or QB.

Foster is a injury risk. Three backs guarantee solid production there.

My thoughts.

I second XenoPhanes215's recommendation.

Also, the PPR aspect of this league almost seems negligible. I would draft as if it were a standard scoring league with big play bonuses, so the speedy WRs and RBs would all get bumped up my draft board.

Thanks everyone. I sat down last night and carefully went through each team to figure out the keepers. In the end, I don't think there will be any first round talent on the board. As in none. Most of this years first rounders will most likely be kept. Thus, I will likely keep foster and lynch. I can't justify dropping either only to give them away and get Cobb or d Thomas in return. (Cobb and d Thomas will likely be the highest ranked guys on the board). I like Andre, though not in the second, but foster, lynch and Andre as mynfirstbthree picks are fine with me.

Without question, given value and draft positioning factors. You keep Morris and Lynch.

Unless there is another Morris other than the Washington RB that has seemingly calmed the Shannahan RBBC anual argument (which hasn't happen since Terrel Davis was still playing). You have to keep this guy. Last round talent that, with what you say people will be keeping is just too too much to drop. Especially for almost any WR.

To be honest, if any rb I would drop in order to keep Andre, it would be Foster.

But my first reaction is to drop both Andre and Foster, to possilby keep Ridley or Ryan or Ridley.
