Voltaire 5,181 Posted September 13, 2017 Each week, the team with the league high score may choose a masthead for the MFL homepage. This week that would be Clerks. I'll give him another day or two then chose, if not I'll do something myself. In James' case he can do it himself if he likes since he has (is the only other person with) the commish password. worm 36 Posted September 26, 2017 Thanks for filling in the rest of the scroll Voltaire! I wanted to touch on the current state of the NFL and politics without being too somber (not trying to make light of it in any way, just lightening the mood). PCU is one of my favorite comedies, it used to run on Comedy Central a lot and I would watch every time I came across it.
Voltaire 5,181 Posted September 26, 2017 Thanks for filling in the rest of the scroll Voltaire! I wanted to touch on the current state of the NFL and politics without being too somber (not trying to make light of it in any way, just lightening the mood). PCU is one of my favorite comedies, it used to run on Comedy Central a lot and I would watch every time I came across it. It's a tough time to be an NFL fan, or at least for me it is. This kneeling for the national anthem stuff is weighing on me. Coming here most every day for sixteen years, I've racked up >30K posts, 13th most in the forum. I'd think I'd seen it all, knowing full well how nasty the place can get. But not so. I really have thin skin on this issue, I can't read the threads on the subject without getting angry - angry at posters I really like normally. It seldom happens, I'm pretty jaded after all. The way I was raised, you'd never disrespect the flag. Ever. Seeing 95% of the league and so many posters around here doing just that, or not caring, seeing eight Detroit Lions kneel for the national anthem, it's just heartbreaking.
