I have never been punched nor have i ever punched anyone else.

Only twice in my life did i ever even get close to a situation where a fight was on the table but both situations were diffused, once by highschool acquaintances and the other time I was in my early 20's but I was thrown out of the bar. Neither of the times I almost fought were my fault either. Once was a misunderstanding and the other time it was my brother's fault.

I don't really recall the first, but somewhere in middle school.  Our middle school wasn't exactly a safe space for 5th graders considering it was a grade 5-8 school and literally had a student parking lot for those who were just attending enough to get checks who were also old enough to drive.  It was pretty commonplace to walk around with some kind of backup.  Young me used to carry around an old combination lock in my pocket if it ever got too intense.  Crazy how that was just normal in my mind at the time.  Never got close to using that even though I got on the bad end of a couple altercations there as well.  I don't really miss those days and even when I got into 8th grade and was older and fairly safe from any kind of violence or fight there, it was just a pretty horrible school to attend on a daily basis.

Mine was condemned quite a few years ago and no longer stands.  It was the old high school and got used for grades 5-8 when a new high school was built in the 60s or early 70s.  The one scene I'll never forget was in the 5th grade building before opening bell.  They kept the 5th graders in a separate building to avoid problems.  Well, before the opening bell the teachers were in the lounge in the main building.  Some guy came in there who wasn't a 5th grader, came to our homeroom looking for a guy, and proceeded to beat the living hell out of him in front of the class.  While he got quite the beating, he actually put up a pretty good fight.  But seeing that occur just out in the open and nobody step in got the message across that pretty much anything could happen there.
