Kellogg's 'woke' workplace diversity programs are illegal, group claims

Recommended Posts

I would venture to guess that every single DEI program has done illegal things.  I worked for a company on a contract that is a mental health startup. During a conversation with a hiring manager I had one say "we are looking for someone who....does not look like you. You can submit anyone you like. As long as they are not straight, white, or male."  She never flinched when she told this to me Via Zoom. Never occurred to her that it was a problem.

At no point would it ever be ok to say that about any other group. You would lose your job. You would be blackballed from working. Your bank would call in your house note. Your phone company would cancel your service. Your landlord would kick you out.

Of course not. I was on an RPO contract with them. They would have swapped me out right off the bat. As it is they swapped me out after about 2 months. It was insane. Every day I sat down for a daily standup for the entire team. Probably 15 people total. My personal joke was that you could look around and play the game "one of these things is not like the other" and it was me. I was that one thing. Quit literally I was the ONLY straight white male and they did their best to ignore me like I was not even there.  I WAS the elephant in the room. It was a hostile workplace to anyone not an "under represented minority group."

Discretion is the better part of valor, so I commend you for your restraint.  I probably would have blown the bittch up.

Oh I wanted to. I was actually in shock. I could not believe what I was hearing. I have a buddy that is my sounding board. He is also a recruiter. As soon as I got off the zoom with the hiring manager I called him up and vented to him.

I can assure you that shitt like that happens every single say in the name of DEI. I have seen it with my own eyes. Most are more subtle about it but all DEI programs do some form of this.
