Free School Lunches

A variety of reasons. Some suck, some are losers, some run into bad times. Let’s just make sure some kid who got unlucky is fed.

Sure. Let's identify the parents that suck. Call it child abuse and throw them in prison. Then give those kids something to eat. But not everyone. Deal.

Smokes, bingo, weed, quit school themselves., I could go on forever.  Of all those who can’t feed their children, maybe 5% was not a result of their own fuckups.  Like really lost a job or became really disabled….that’s the grind.

But the economy under biden is thriving so well, no one has an excuse to be out of work.

I will give you the disabled kids though. That's gotta be rough on a family when the kid needs 100% care.

That seems more problematic, if you don’t trust government to make a lunch then this seems infinitely more complex. In extreme cases I believe kids are taken and yes we’d keep them fed.

I don't trust government to make a lunch. They called ketchup a vegetable for God's sake. And their spending is focking stupid. And besides, the costs all come back to the taxpayer anyway. And I don't want to pay for other people's poor decisions in life.

Yep some stuff we all pay for should be considered a net positive regardless of other people’s poor choices causing the issue. This is one of them for me.

Not in my mind. Because it's a mistake that is not addressed. Ever. It's a part of society that should not be a part of society. It's way too accepted. If there was a serious focus on trying to get people who can't afford kids to not have kids, I would help where I can. But no, the same mistakes being made year after year after year? Sadly, let the kids have to deal with their situation and learn first hand what not to do when they grow up. Bailing kids out teaches them to expect bailouts all their lives.

I am all for educating people on birth control, sex education, etc. Not sure how people have these views but also want to ban or make abortion impossible to get.

Getting lunch at school is hardly getting bailed out, it’s a bare minimum that the wealthiest nation on the planet should have. It is embarrassing that this is an issue.

That’s gonna cost a lot more than some free lunches.

And then who’s going to be responsible for the kids? We going back to orphanages or something? And who is gonna pay for that?

You don’t think any of this sh1t out at all.

Learning lessons can be tough. I would rather pay more now to go in the right direction than to continue on with this garbage. Set a precedent. Stop accepting criminal behavior and jyst saying we'll pay for it.

Much better thought out than anything you offer.
