Voltaire 4,573 Posted February 5 So the US embassy in China's official website on Weibo, which is like Chinese Twitter, has whatever videos the US government provides for consumption of the Chinese public. And it's usually filled with condemnation comments in Chinese from brainwashed government loving hacks. The US government leaves the comments up, as do Weibo and the Chinese government. Well a strange thing happened recently. The Chinese people figured out that they could start posting anti-Chinese government screeds on the US embassy's website. And so they just flooded and flooded the website with comments. It started on a feel good video about what the US government is doing to protect endangered giraffes.https://share.america.gov/how-tech-helps-scientists-protect-giraffes/ "Save us instead of the giraffes." "Send warships, I'll tell you where to go." "China is bullsh*t." Weibo could not delete them fast enough. Finally they just shut down comments on all the US government website. Now they've taken to posting on India's embassy Weibo website. Reuters has a story covering the phenominon. https://www.reuters.com/markets/chinese-turn-us-embassy-post-into-wailing-wall-stock-plunge-2024-02-04/
