Going Forward: C Palmer or K Cousins?

Recommended Posts

A healthy Palmer with the weapons he has would be my choice going forward. The problem is, at least for now he's not healthy, and nerve issues are trickey.

Cousins has some good weapons as well, and he's obviously better than he showed last week. Gruden has said he preferred Cousins over RGIII because Cousin's is a pocket passer. However, if/when RGIII comes back, will there be a political move to start their million dollar QB?

Given the above info, which QB would you roll with on your roster?

IMO, the chance of Palmer missing more time is greater than the chance of Griffin coming back this year. Reports out of Cards camp is that he's throwing but not with the velocity they'd like to see.

AZ has confidence in Stanton; Wash has confidence in Cousins.

Last 4 weels of season Cards play KC; @StL;SEA; @SF

Wash: StL; @NYG; Phil; dal

If the playoff run figures into your decision making, it appears Cousins has a nicer schedule down the stretch

I actually just dropped Cousins for Palmer a few mintues ago. My Qb situation was a mess with Brady and Cousins (dropped Brady for Flacco also).

Don't see Palmer being healthy

- the wheels really came off of the Cuz wagon once Paul went out.

he had 3/66 at that point, and seemed to be a huge part of the game plan ... REDskins were still very much in that game up 'til that point.

then it escalated. quickly. ugly.

next two weeks are tough tests - Seahags and @Zona ... but if he survives (literally) he then gets a stretch of Titans/Cowboys/Vikes/Bucs.

in between the Vikes and Bucs game is their bye ... and RG III and out might be looming.

Cousins was hugely overrated after his 420 yard performance and is now equally underrated after his 4 INT performance. I don't want to make the same mistake of dropping a serviceable starter like when I did when I dropped Rivers and got stuck w/ Cousins. I think I'll keep Cousins and maybe carry 2 QBs. I'm inclined to even start him at home against SEA off 10 days rest. SEA has not been lights out against the pass or opposing QBs, especially on the road. When the Chargers handled them at home, they employed Danny Woodhead as a key part of their gameplan, so maybe Helu will get some more designed plays and Cousins can maybe throw 2-3 TDs against SEA tough run D.

If I'm stuck between those 2 QBs I might go with BOTH, b/c you're obviously desperate at QB (if a 1 QB league) and if you miss, the other could become a surprise serviceable QB1 going forward (it IS only week 4) and you'd be taking a major roster blow at QB missing out.

Actually, I have Matt Ryan. But we have to roster two QBs, and I'm wondering which of those two desrves the other roster spot.

Now reports say Palmer may go on IR per CBS. I'm Dropping him.

Due to that I would say Cousins and also Palmer would have 2 match ups vs Seattle coming up if he returns.

Cousins could be a Folesian type guy where he isn't a top QB talent, and is highly erratic, but will put up numbers based on the system and offensive weapons. SEA pass D only 12th this year, might have the balls to roll w/ Cousins at home on Monday night.

if I recall, Foles first start last year was home vs Dallas - and he stunk it the fock up in a 17-3 loss ...

couple weeks later he tossed 7 vs Oaktown

ya never know ...

I dont see Carson playing at all this year, this injury is too strange and lingering.

Palmer left practice yesterday to gtet another opinion on his shoulder after what the Cards are calling a "setback".

There is talk today of him being put on IR, which has to happen before Week 8 or he'd be lost for the season.

While he hasn't been ruled out for Sunday, Arians says he would be the backup if able to go at all.

It does not look good.

The AZ schedule is very favorable for passing in the coming weeks. And they have great wideouts. My suggestion would be to keep Palmer and pick up Stanton as well. He has looked good so far and will give you a good floor every week in the Arians system.

Cousins is radioactive. Wait till the Geiger counter stabilizes before starting him.
