ff2006 0 Posted July 28, 2006 There are so many unknowns with this year's crew of QB's. Everywhere I look, question marks. Aside from Manning, i'm really not sold on anyone. In fact, i'm pretty terrified to pick a QB before the 4th round. Most likely, my QB is coming from a series of late round draft picks or a free agent pick up. If you don't want to waste a draft pick, or you're just curious to see my rationale, feel free to glance at my column. If you're opposed to links, I mean no harm, please go in peace. edjr 6,580 Posted July 28, 2006 Remember when Warner was an unknown question mark and he help win many, many league titles that year? Can lightning strike twice? Kitna?

larrymcirish 0 Posted July 28, 2006 There just are not enough good rb's to take a chance 3rd round on. a very good qb (or 2) can be had later. I do believe a 1st round rb & 5th round qb will outscore a 1st round qb & 5th round rb.
DanXIII 8 Posted July 28, 2006 There just are not enough good rb's to take a chance 3rd round on. a very good qb (or 2) can be had later. I do believe a 1st round rb & 5th round qb will outscore a 1st round qb & 5th round rb. Everything you say here is true...I'm just not sure I agree with your reasoning as to why. I believe that this is almost always the case principally because the majority of savvy fantasy football owners go RB-RB in rounds 1 and 2. You're right that it usually comes out this way, but it doesn't have to. It is almost a mathematical certainty that the 4th RB taken in the draft will underperform vs. the first QB taken in the draft, especially if we're talking about a league that gives 6 pts for both passing and rushing TDs. And I strongly disagree with the OP's assertion that the QB class is "absurdly top heavy," regardless of his/her status as a spammer. Hell, with the exception of perhaps Brady, Manning and Palmer, I can't name a single QB in the NFL that I am at all confident will throw more than 25 TD passes this year. Zap 0 Posted July 28, 2006 "look at me look at me I have wrote a fantasy footballl article" Bleacher Report He recommends Palmer over Manning and both in the first round. Hasselbeck, McNabb and Brady are his second round locks. Culpepper, Eli, and Leftwich are "worth the risk" in the second round. Worst published FF advice I have ever seen. It's like a newbie in the help forum has a writing gig.

Bleacher Report Maybe it's just me, but it seems that the column (link) nullifys the rest of this original post. The article recommends no less than 15 QB's worthy of drafting within the first three rounds. Then there's the comment above. ??? Contradiction aside, after reading the entire article it seems the advice being suggested has very little actual value. The basis used for selecting the great fantasy QB's uses stats that would total 48 TD's, 4800 yards and approx. 8 INT's in a given season. Since so far this type of performance is more or less a once a decade happening, the advice offers little merit. No offense, but why would you write a column that offers very little useful information and then include a link to that article in a posting, also written by you, which states the opposite of the advice given in your column? Were you misquoted?
