just_want_2_win 0 Posted September 12, 2006 0-1 not surprising check out this dud of a roster: QB: Bulger, Rivers (start 1) RB: T. Barber, Foster, Jordan, M. Barber (2) WR: Boldin, Evans, Moulds, M. Clayton (TB) (2) TE: McMichael K: Akers D: Panthers, Colts (1) Why two Ds? My web page froze up, my queue disappeared (CBS draft) and when I got it back up it was make a pick or let computer auto pick (I wanted to draft Shockey at the time). So I took Panthers a bit early rather than get garbage. A couple of rounds later I got the Colts as possible trade bait since the other players available at the time weren't too spectacular. Anyway, WW availables: QB: Pennington, A. Smith, Collins RB: Norwood, Jacobs, Buckhalter WR: Jenkins, Cotchery, Colston, Welker, Wilford, Northcutt Would you release Rivers and pick up Pennington? A Smith has the same bye as Bulger (7) but maybe for trade bait. Release M. Barber for Norwood figuring Dunn might be more injury prone than the injury prone J. Jones due to age? Drop Clayton for any of those WRs? Try to trade Jordan (value is low now but outlook is poor) because the Raiders are pathetic or see if he can rebound? Beyond Chaos 75 Posted September 12, 2006 I would: Pick up Pennington, drop Rivers if you have to. Keep Barber or trade him. Wouldn't drop him yet. Would drop Clayton for Jenkins or Cotchery. Trade Jordan if you can work out a deal you like using some of the other players you want to get rid of as sweeteners.
preilly 0 Posted September 12, 2006 I don't think those receivers are going to help you. I would definitely drop a D (prolly indi) and pick up another RB. Norwood is your biggest gamble but Jacobs is the safe play becasue if Tiki goes down and someone else gets him, you're really screwed. I would also consider flipping Rivers for Pennington, although you should be fine with Bulger.
badassbroncs 0 Posted September 12, 2006 I would consider droppinf Rivers for Pennigton aswell, and first on my list would be gettin Jacobs right away. I would make a 2 for 1 type deal with 1 of your dsts and make a slight imrovment somewhere then pick up Jacobs with the new opening
midnitetoqr 0 Posted September 12, 2006 I'd drop Rivers for Pennington. At least Pennington will be throwing the ball. Well, until his arm falls off *knock on wood*. Since you start 2 RBs, I'd go ahead and drop Barber. I guess I'd try to trade him to the Julius Jones owner, maybe packaging a defense or Clayton. But really...Tiki and Foster will probably be your main starters, with *gulp* Jordan filling in. I don't think BarberIII really has the upside that Norwood does. Atlanta runs so much that their back-up RB is probably worth almost as much as some teams' starting RB *coughJordancough*. Even with Warrick healthy, he'll get some carries. It'd be awesome if you could sucker your league's Raider Nation representative into trading for Jordan...but anyone else will feel generous offering you the likes of Arnaz Battle for Lamont right now. And as was pointed out earlier, if Tiki goes down, Jacobs will be the man. I'd rather have that than a suspect back-up D. So my $0.02 in summary: Drop Rivers, Add Pennington Drop/Trade BarberIII, Add Norwood Drop a D, Add Jacobs full disclosure: Really, my opinion probably isn't that great. Honestly, I just responded because you were good enough to move this topic from the main board. edit: doh, I forgot about the WRs. I'd rather have Cotchery than Clayton. But if your league tends to hoard RBs, maybe drop Clayton to pick up Norwood (and thus retain BarberIII)

Barber a bit. Parcells is not a fan of Jones, so is a potential starter if Jones starts slow. Wait and see with Jordan a few weeks. I think we saw Pennington's best game last week. Rivers has more upside as he is on a much better team.

Rivers won't have to win games, he'll just have to manage them. The defense and LaDainian can take care of the rest. No such luck for Pennington; he'll have to keep slinging passes. At least, *knock on wood*, until his arm falls off.
throttlers 0 Posted September 13, 2006 I'd get Jacobs, Norwood, and whichever of the WR's you like. I like Colston myself. Drop Rivers, Clayton and Indy. I couldn't argue with picking up Pennington istead of 1 of those, but I would probably wait until Bulgers bye week and pick up a QB off waivers then. Either that or trade Jordan and Bulger for a lesser RB and better QB. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=231939
