P.Manning Trade

Recommended Posts

10 team keeper moving to dynasty league this season. We kept 4 players from last years roster no cost (did not have to give up any draft picks). We start 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1K, 1D/ST. We have a 20 man roster. All TDs worth 6pts and ppr. I kept the following:

LJ

J.Addai

R.Johnson

A.Boldin

This morning I traded R.Johnson for P.Manning. Eventhough I gave up some RB depth I like having P.Manning w/6pts for TDs.

To those of you who commented on my post yesterday thanks for the help.

My draft slot is 9th in a snake draft. I think I will go WR/WR with those two picks then starting in the 3rd draft the best available player from there on out.

My Questions:

1. How do you like the trade?

2. How do you like the WR/WR in rounds 1 and 2?

Thanks and remember leave a link and I will respond.

I like the Manning trade. Definitely allows you to not have to think about QB for a while.

WR/WR? May want to see what available RB is there to bolster your depth. WRs, as always are deep. You'll still get quality late.

Manning for Rudi is not a bad trade at all plus you still have Addai and LJ both 1st rd rb's as your 1-2 punch however I would go WR-RB for your next 2 picks. Get that stud wr like Harrison, CJ or Owens, and then build your depth back up again at RB then you will have studs at your top 5 spots and you can build your rb and wr depth throughout the draft. Good luck.

I like the trade alot, especially with the two rbs you kept. I would go WR/RB since there will be a lack of quality RB's left in the draft after the 4th with all the keepers gone. Looks like you should have a good seaseon with Peyton, LJ, Addai, and Boldin. Good Luck

Thanks for the input. However, 17 of the top 18 RBs were keepers (only R.Brown remains) and CJ/Smith/Wayne/Harrison/Owens/Fitz/R.Williams all gone. The best WR I could hope for is going to be Holt or Driver. I really was thinking about drafting the best WR available maybe TJ/Walker/Holt/Driver/Evans then with my 1st pick in the 2nd round grabbing CJ2. He might not be great this season but will be awesome in the future.

I mean I could possibly look like this after my 2nd rd pick:

P.Manning

LJ/Addai

Driver/Boldin/CJ2

That would be a very solid start IMO. I might not get Driver but TJ/Evans will for sure be an option.

What do you think?

Yeah I might have to go WR/RB. It also might actually be a possbility that Bulger might slip all the way to the 9th spot. Eventhough I have P.Manning I might just have to take Bulger and use him as trade bait later. I mean I know the guy behind me is betting on him falling to him and I would love to have Manning/Bulger. The WRs and RBs available from there to the 3rd is really not that big a deal and I think I could get some guys to trade especially since this is a 6pts for all TDs league.

What about that move?

Getting Manning was a good move for Rudi.

WR/WR is how I would go. You have your starters, which are awesome. Try and get some top flight WR/WR if there is one there at both picks. Value. Value value value.

Personally I would have waited after the draft. You may have gotten a QB you didnt feel the need to trade a top 10 RB for. But Rudi for Manning straight up is about as fair as you can get.

good trade... if you look at redraft ADPs johnson is only slightly ahead of manning in a standard scoring system... that and you are already set at RB...

moves like these win championships... good luck

I like the trade, my thoughts would be to go best RB available which doesnt seem to really help your team so I would go WR/WR which generally speaking you WR you can get good talent almost anywhere in the draft. If a RB is available that can help your team I would go that way first because you gave up addai.

Well we drafted last night and here is what I ended up getting. Here is how my draft went:

P.Manning/LJ/Addai/Boldin were my keepers.

1.9 D.Driver

2.2 CJ2

3.9 L.Jordan

4.2 B.Edwards

5.9 T.Bell

6.2 J.Whitten

7.9 E.Manning

8.2 K.Jones

9.9 S.Graham

10.2 G.Jennings

11.9 G.Olsen

12.2 K.Keith

13.9 S.Young

14.2 G.Wolfe

15.9 GB

16.2 OAK

So here is my team by position:

QB

P.Manning/E.Manning

RB

LJ/Addai/L.Jordan/T.Bell/K.Jones/K.Keith/S.Young/G.Wolfe

WR

D.Driver/A.Boldin/CJ2/B.Edwards/G.Jennings

TE

J.Whitten/G.Olsen

K

S.Graham

D/ST

GB/OAK

I know the D/ST is a bit weak but I think the rest of my team is quite solid. I think GB will end up being as good as most of the 3rd tier D/ST so I feel like I did not loose to much by waiting for them.

I think I got great value picks on Jordan, Bell, E.Manning, Whitten & K.Jones.

Thoughts?
