To each their own.  I would have told Tim to fock off and we'll decide in November.  To me, the spirit of the bet was that.  I don't view that a win.  It's not about the money, it's about being right.  Like the bet in Trading Places for $1.

Like I said. Words matter. Tim offered an out. George took it. By the definition of the bet George won. It's a shitty way to win, but it happens. The very definition of words matter. IMO George won. He won by a technicality, but he won non the less.

IMHO since it came to this. George should honor the spirit of the bet. Just call it even and move on.

Eta: I could be drunk. Purdue won again today!! Boiler Up!!

And here. @Engorgeous George thinks the “up to you” means I gave him the power to end the bet today making him the winner. @Strike agrees with that and therefore I’m going to pay. But I strongly DISAGREE. It’s crap.

It is crap. I agree with you there. But you offered with "up to you". He took it and won by the terms of the bet. It's a shitty thing to do. Again, you should've just kept quiet until the Democratic convention and he won the nomination. Words matter.

  3. A shitty way to lose a bet, but technically Tim lost because he wanted to settle now. Technically there is no Democrat nominee yet. He'll, Biden could pass away tomorrow and you'd lose.

Tim you are correct that you won the "spirit of the bet", but that's worth nothing when betting :dunno:

You should've just waited. If one of my friends pulled shenanigans like this. Doorbell. Face. Wife and kids.

What do you think about Beiber? Is he getting dealt at some point?

Tough to say. He's looked good in spring training. I would think most definitely before all-star break. But if Cleveland is in a playoff run, they might just let him walk at the end of the year. That would be odd for Cleveland to do.

I would say yes. Cubs and Reds make perfect sense as trade partners.

Watched a bit of Spring Training yesterday, so good. Means golf is coming too. Augusta, March Madness, and MLB. Great time of year.

I like your Gimenez and Naylor later in drafts (and of course Clase and Jose R). Good luck this season.

I'd keep an eye out for Espino. He's a starting pitcher. He's had health issues, but is finally healthy. He can hit 103 with his fastball, and has two wipe out "sliders". Ones is a low 80's breaker and one's a mid 90's hard slider. Like I told Hardcore troubadour up above, he's been compared to DeGrom when healthy.

 The Reds O/U for wins is 81.5 and the Mariners, well they are the Mariners. Both will win their division!

Reds should win their division. 81.5 seams low to me. Mariners are a WC team imo. Astros are still the team in that division. But God I'm happy baseball is back. Already planning a couple trips to go watch my Guardians. 🍻

Doing a little research as fantasy baseball season approaches.

Reds and Mariners are both going to be very good this year. Mark it down.

    Hot take here!!

You’re right, it’s happened before. And it may again. But there is a little bit of a difference here. At FBG, with a very few exceptions, I enjoyed talking to everyone. Here it’s different: there is only a minority of people I enjoy talking to: about 5-6. The majority of people here either irritate or bore me. Sorry but it’s true. Hopefully that could change at some point; I’m open to it. But we’ll see.

And that’s the last you’ll hear from me about my posting history, or what people think of me, or whatever. I meant what I wrote: I will discuss issues with folks who want to discuss them with me. Nothing else.

So you stick around for 5 or 6 posters?

Abortion is what handed Michigan over the the Ds completely and turned the red wave into the red trickle. Seems to me that this no exemption for rape and incest stuff will cost votes and elections allowing the Ds to get in and fock everything else up (again, see Michigan).

    Agree 👍

Be nice to see McKenzie rebound. He’s so slight it’s nit surprising he was hurt though.

Gavin Williams is the future ace. Daniel Espino has been compared with DeGrom, but can't stay healthy. If he can, and the comparisons are true, another great young arm to keep an eye on.

Does Beiber get dealt if he’s looking good?

I think so. Cleveland is loaded with good young pitchers. Look for Clase to possibly get moved also. Been talk all off-season about a Beiber/Clase package for a power hitting outfielder.

I’m counting on him.  Not many AL catchers out there worth a damn. They wasted half a season with Zunnino last year.

He's young. I also wouldn't be surprised if he hits a little bit of a sophomore slump this year either. He's got tons of potential though. They wanted some thump in the lineup and Zunnino was cheap, but yes, wasted time. Us fans wanted him starting from day 1.

What do you think of Bo Naylor?

I like him. He's got top 10 type production for catchers in him imo. He'd be one I'd like to see extended. His brother too.

who cares?  When was the last time the Royals signed someone with so much potential, at such a young age for such a long commitment?  BWJ is on pace through his first couple years to be something really special in KC.  A premium hitter with speed and quickness that can play defense at a premium position.  You can't ask for much more than that.

As a Cleveland fan I'm angry, sad, and jealous all at once. I wish Cleveland would spend like this on great young talent, and yes, BWJ can be elite. He already kind of is. Good job by KC.

Nebraska down 19 at one point, take the lead late and then it was tied, goes to OT. Huskers win 80 - 72 over #6 ranked Wisconsin.

Fans stormed the court, just as they did earlier in the year when the Huskers defeated #1 Purdue.

    Record is now 16 - 6

They showed a stat during that game which makes the comeback even more crazy. Wisconsin was 120-0 when leading by 15 or more at the half. It was a 16 point lead. Nebraska was something like 1-60 when trailing by more then 15 at half.

You know how that story ends for Purdue.

Yeah, Kansas just doesn’t have the guards they normally do. My cyclones had a nice road wind today against TCU. Such a tough conference.

Hopefully this year is different. One more year of experience for their guards. Guard play is everything in the tournament. They were true freshman last year. It feels like a different team this year. Who knows.

Doesn't matter, they played the 55th strength of schedule! How is that deserving?

Where are you getting this from? Sagarin had them 10th and this has them 11th.
