big thumbs up for the mandate the Republicans earned. Good to see @timschochet was wrong again with his multiple predictions this election cycle.
Gotta get Alito and Thomas to "retire" so Trump can appoint two younger justices. Cut all foreign aid to countries that hate us. Cut all other foreign aid by 10% or more. Invest that at home.
Who becomes Senate leader? I want Paul.
Start deportation of illegal aliens.
Get Russia and Ukraine to the table. No more money to the Ukraine. We've done enough.
Keep making inroads with the Latino and AA voting base.
No more Trans in women spaces.
No "swamp" appointments in his cabinet. The only one I'm ok with is Pompeo.
Turn Tulsi, RFK Jr and Musk loose on waste and other departments.
Lot of work to do.

Never heard of them so I Googled. Thanks alot. Those guys are considered alt rock? In my time alt rock was Nirvana, pearl jam, soundgarden etc. That is not alt rock.

But I do believe that opposition to immigration (not undocumented immigration but all immigration) is opposed to what I regard as the American ideal. But that’s a point of view, mine, not an absolute.
I know your view on immigration. I'm for making it easier and cheaper. I want limits tho. I want a ratio of educated to uneducated. I want limits on certain countries. I want people to come here that are a net gain. I think they should have to know how to speak English. We're not a welfare society. Be a positive or don't come.

But your main point is correct. The conservative position on many issues has lots of merit. You don’t have the right messenger. The problem is not conservatism per se (though I wish you guys would move away from the nationalist populism of recent years), it’s Donald Trump.
I'm ok with Nationalist to a degree. I was a fan of both Paul's. They were America first before Trump took over and bastardized it. Back then we was called things like "un-American", isolationist, anti military, etc etc. We opposed the NSA spying on Americans. We opposed the constant interventions in foreign countries. Stop giving money to countries that hate us. Have a immigration policy that's reasonable.
I'm a veteran. I was called all kinds of names for saying how awful the Patriot Act was. Everybody with a brain knew it would be abused. The Republican party has allowed Trump, of all people, to be the leader of the party. It's a joke.

Donald is a vulgarian and I’d guess a bad husband but by all appearances a caring & loving father. I don’t care about most of it. I care about who I think will do the best for the country
I agree with you. I want what's best for the country. To be honest, her and Walz are not it. I wanted other people on the top of the tickets. IMO Republicans nominated an extremely unpopular person. Think Hillary Clinton type unpopular. If Kamala wins Republicans have nobody to blame but themselves.
He's a loser on down ballet tickets. I can not rap my head around why he's so popular with Republican voters. I get some of it, but they had better options imo.

Yes. Gotta have onion and finely diced bell peppers though.

That debate was a joke. For the record I'm not a "Trump guy". Actually can't stand him as a person. With that said, Kamala got away with murder last night. She said multiple lies or flat out non answers to questions. The moderators refused to fact check her or push her on her "flip flops" of policy.
I think I'm a moderate. I could vote Democrat or Republican. I was going to vote JFK Jr as a throw away protest vote. Not now. I'll just leave my opinion at that.

6 minutes ago, double tour said:Fair enough. I guess I just see sports as purely entertainment. Same as movies, theater, music, etc.
It is entertainment. But it's usually state or regional entertainment. Or if you're an alumni or booster. Or work for a professional/college organization in some form. Plus it's easy to say we, so throw in some laziness too.
-
7 minutes ago, double tour said:That is true. But that's the same with movies. When Raiders of the Lost Ark made it big, did you say, "We killed it!!"?
Who knows if people said we after a movie. I don't. Sports are different. I don't know anyone that feels invested in movies the way they do with sports. I mean, it's not a literal we obviously. Like I said earlier, it's a collective/figurative we.

4 minutes ago, double tour said:No they don't win. Hence no rings, no trophies, no bonuses, no recognition, no pay check.
They recognize fans all the time
. Pro leagues need fans. They need tv viewers. They need paying customers in the stands. Take away fans and the leagues fold.

Just now, double tour said:Another one!
Crawling out of the woodwork.
Do fans "win" if their favorite team does? It's nothing more then a collective we. You people take this shitt to serious.

Nothing wrong with saying we while referring to your favorite sports team. Strike ended this before it began. Well done strike.

Like I said. Words matter. Tim offered an out. George took it. By the definition of the bet George won. It's a shitty way to win, but it happens. The very definition of words matter. IMO George won. He won by a technicality, but he won non the less.
IMHO since it came to this. George should honor the spirit of the bet. Just call it even and move on.
Eta: I could be drunk. Purdue won again today!! Boiler Up!!

13 minutes ago, The Real timschochet said:And here. @Engorgeous George thinks the “up to you” means I gave him the power to end the bet today making him the winner. @Strike agrees with that and therefore I’m going to pay. But I strongly DISAGREE. It’s crap.
It is crap. I agree with you there. But you offered with "up to you". He took it and won by the terms of the bet. It's a shitty thing to do. Again, you should've just kept quiet until the Democratic convention and he won the nomination. Words matter.
I’m willing to question the media now.
