Wuerffel for MVP 0 Posted June 18, 2005 I'm really excited about the coming season and I thought I'd share my thoughts with you guys. This was a very interesting draft and almost every team will be in contention this year. Now, I know there will be lots of cuts but here are the rosters as they stand: Beerboy QB: Donovan McNabb, Joey Harrington, Jeff Garcia, A.J. Feely RB: Shaun Alexander, Ahman Green, Chris Brown, Dorsey Levens, Antowain Smith, Tony Fisher, Troy Fleming, Maurice Morris, Ciatrick Fason, Brandon Jacobs WR: Joe Horn, Michael Clayton, Donald Driver, Brandon Stokely, Keenan McCardell, Ernest Wilford, Bryant Johnson, Arnaz Battle TE: Randy McMichael, Jermaine Wiggins K: Ryan Longwell, Steve Christie DEF: Atlanta Falcons, New York Jets Our league champion didn't make too many changes this offseason but Fason and Jacobs are good long-term prospects at runningback. McNabb will be a stud and he made a good move pairing Harrington with Garcia. Anyone throwing to those receivers should put up decent numbers. The Alexander/Green combo should give him another productive year, but there are alot of questions surrounding Brown with Henry in the mix. I don't see him repeating but anything can happen. Maybe the Soilost's prediction will come true and Stokely will carry him to another trophy. BigPhatty QB: Kerry Collins, Brian Griese, Vinny Testaverde RB: Priest Holmes, Thomas Jones, Amos Zereoue, Derrick Blaylock, Sammy Morris, Tyrone Wheatley, Charlie Garner, Anthony Thomas, Jamal Robertson, Verron Haynes, Justin Fargas, Cedric Cobbs WR: Hines Ward, Brandon Lloyd, Amani Toomer, Marty Booker, Jerome Pathon, Bobby Engram, Sammy Parker TE: Eric Johnson K: Phil Dawson DEF: Buffalo Bills, Tampa Bay Buccaneers Joey's team is in bad shape. He may make some noise again this year with Priest/Collins/Ward, but his team is very, very old. He needs to make some changes to get some youth before his team really falls apart. Chicken Capital USA QB: Matt Hasselbeck, Ben Roethlisberger, Kurt Warner, Aaron Rodgers RB: Ronnie Brown, Cedric Benson, Warrick Dunn, T.J. Duckett, Jerome Bettis, Stephen Davis, Ricky Williams, Nick Goings, Damien Nash WR: Darrell Jackson, Deion Branch, Drew Bennett, Charles Rogers, Troy Williamson, Reggie Williams, Greg Lewis TE: Bubba Franks, Heath Miller K: Mike Vanderjagt, Mike Nugent DEF: Jacksonville Jaguars, Philadelphia Eagles GDG was able to amass a ton of picks this year which worked out great for him due to the quality of the draft. He's now got youth at every position and while I think he will be hot/cold this year, he will really come into his own in 2006. Demolition QB: Tom Brady, Aaron Brooks, Drew Brees, Phillip Rivers RB: Curtis Martin, Kevan Barlow, Maurice Clarett, Kevin Faulk, Correll Buckhalter, Michael Turner, Ryan Moats, Marion Barber III, Cedric Houston WR: Roy Williams, Isaac Bruce, Laverneus Coles, Steve Smith, Eric Moulds, Robert Ferguson, Koren Robinson, Darius Watts, Bernard Berrian, Kevin Curtis, David Terrell TE: Antonio Gates, Boo Williams, Ben Watson K: Jason Elam, Jason Hanson DEF: Pittsburgh Steelers, Carolina Panthers Other than Gates, Captain Lou has no superstars on his team. He has a lot of solid, above average players giving him great depth at every position except for runningback. His QB/WR depth is ridiculous. The bad thing about that is he will have to constantly move around his players and he'll probably have alot of points on the bench. This is a team that could be really good or really bad, depending on his decisions. Horny Toads QB: Peyton Manning, Carson Palmer, Kyle Boller, Andrew Walter RB: Edgerrin James, Jamal Lewis, Domanick Davis, Carnell Williams, Chester Taylor, Vernand Morency WR: Terrell Owens, Javon Walker, Nate Burleson, Larry Fitzgerald, Antwaan Randle El, Cedrick Wilson, Peerless Price, Reche Caldwell, Vincent Jackson TE: Jeremy Shockey, Alge Crumpler K: Adam Vinatieri, Josh Brown DEF: Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Seattle Seahawks This is me. I fixed my QB depth problem but my top two receivers are holding out. Regardless, I think I have enough firepower and depth to finally get to the championship. Reluctant Prophets QB: Jake Plummer, Chad Pennington, Drew Henson RB: Duce Staley, Deshaun Foster, Travis Henry, Eric Shelton, Michael Pittman, Troy Hambrick, Greg Jones, Michael Cloud, Jarrett Payton WR: Chris Chambers, Justin McCareins, Antonio Bryant, Clarence Moore, Freddie Mitchell, Michael Jenkins, Quincy Morgan TE: Daniel Graham, Kellen Winslow, Courtney Anderson K: Doug Brien DEF: Denver Broncos Things are starting to look up! Travis Henry goes to Tennessee to give Dr. Octopus three viable starters at runningback. I still think he's got a ways to go but he's got some young guys in good situations. Shox QB: Daunte Culpepper, Alex Smith, Rex Grossman, Patrick Ramsey, Chris Simms, Josh McCown, David Garrard RB: Julius Jones, Stephen Jackson, Tatum Bell, Marshall Faulk, J.J. Arrington, Dominic Rhodes, Tony Hollings WR: Chad Johnson, Plaxico Burress, Derrick Mason, Lee Evans, Mike Williams, Andre Davis, Rod Gardner, Peter Warrick, David Patten, Ronald Curry, Doug Gabriel, Derrick Armstrong, Mark Bradley, Chris Henry TE: Tony Gonzalez, Ben Troupe K: Kris Brown DEF: Cincinnati Bengals This is one of those teams that worries me. He made a lot of changes this offseason and has a team that could blow up. If Bell and Jackson pan out and CPep and Jones continue at the same pace as last year, they could be scary good. Singman QB: Marc Bulger, Eli Manning, Tim Rattay, Ken Dorsey, Jonathan Quinn, Adrian McPherson RB: Fred Taylor, Lee Suggs, Reuben Droughns, William Green, Marcel Shipp, Josh Scobey, LaBrandon Toefield, Eddie George, Emmitt Smith, Alvin Pearman WR: Keyshawn Johnson, Anquan Boldin, Jimmy Smith, David Givens, Jerry Porter, Ashley Lelie, Fred Gibson TE: Dallas Clark, Freddie Jones K: Jeff Wilkins DEF: New England Patriots, New York Giants Steve won the league 2 years ago with an older team and had to rebuild. His team isn't horrible, but I wouldn't want my season to depend on the Jaguars/Browns running games. He's got some pretty good players and won't be a pushover but things will really have to go his way for him to make the playoffs. The Big Show QB: Trent Green, Byron Leftwich, Drew Bledsoe, J.P. Losman RB: Kevin Jones, Lamont Jordan, Michael Bennett, Mewelde Moore, Frank Gore, Najeh Davenport, Brock Forsey, Jonathan Wells, Mike Alstott WR: Randy Moss, Andre Johnson, Donte Stallworth, Tyrone Calico, Wilbur McMillen Jr., Braylon Edwards, Matt Jones, Reggie Brown TE: L.J. Smith, Jerramy Stevens, Alex Smith K: David Akers, Jay Feely DEF: Oakland Raiders, New Orleans Saints This team is the definition of upside. Almost every player has the potential to put up huge numbers. I think he will have a great season. I just hope I don't play him on the weeks that he (inevitably) goes off. Titans QB: Brett Favre, Jake Delhomme RB: Deuce McAllister, Willis McGahee, Rudi Johnson, Brad Hoover, Ron Dayne, Chris Perry, Jesse Chatman, Brandon Bennett WR: Marvin Harrison, Muhsin Muhammad, Eddie Kennison, Marcus Robinson, Ike Hilliard, Joey Galloway, Kelley Washington TE: Todd Heap, Marcus Pollard, Chris Baker, Chris Cooley K: Sebastian Janikowski, Martin Gramatica, Morten Andersen, Jeff Reed DEF: Washington Redskins, Minnesota Vikings This team is a contender. The Moz has great running backs and his receivers are solid. Unfortunately, he has no depth. On bye weeks or if someone gets injured he will struggle. If he's lucky (which he always seems to be), he'll still win those games and beat me in the second round of the playoffs for the third year in a row. TooEZ QB: David Carr, Steve McNair RB: LaDainian Tomlinson, Tiki Barber, Corey Dillon, Lamar Gordon, Aaron Stecker, Shawn Bryson, Terry Jackson, Darren Sproles WR: Torry Holt, Rod Smith, Santana Moss, Corey Bradford, Brian Finneran, David Boston, Johnnie Morton, Jabar Gaffney, Devery Henderson, Mark Clayton, Justin Gage TE: Jason Witten, Jeb Putzier K: Matt Stover DEF: Miami Dolphins, Arizona Cardinals Our newest owner couldn't have walked into a better situation. Madden's Boys really live up to their moniker sporting probowlers all over the place. Clayton was the Steal of the Draft and is a great depth pickup for him. He will be in the playoffs. Uncle Paul QB: Michael Vick, Matt Shaub, Charlie Frye RB: Clinton Portis, Brian Westbrook, Larry Johnson, Quentin Griffin, Moe Williams, Ladell Betts, Musa Smith, Justin Griffith, Reno Mahe WR: Reggie Wayne, Keary Colbert, Rashaun Woods, Ricky Proehl, Josh Reed, Randy Hymes, Roddy White TE: Doug Jolley, Chad Lewis K: Nate Kaeding, Shane Graham DEF: Baltimore Ravens, St. Louis Rams Uncle Paul has a very young team. It is very tough to judge how well he will do, but I think he will need more depth before contending. After Vick, he doesn't have a starter at QB and he only has two starters at receiver. With another good draft and/or some good free agent pickups/trades, Paul will be in the playoffs in 2006. Dr. Octopus 0 Posted June 18, 2005 ShoxQB: Daunte Culpepper, Alex Smith, Rex Grossman, Patrick Ramsey, Chris Simms, Josh McCown, David Garrard RB: Julius Jones, Tatum Bell, Marshall Faulk, J.J. Captain Lou 0 Posted June 19, 2005 Demolition has a Super Star in Antonio Gates IMO. Plus for the past 4 seasons Curtis Martin was supposed to fall off the planet. I will believe it when I see it. Overall, nice Job

I will believe it when I see it. Overall, nice Job Umm..I did say "other than Gates" and I'm not saying Martin fell off the planet. He's still a solid back. He's just not a top 5 guy this year IMO. The Pimps division is very strong (like last year) and it was tough to rank them. BTW, YGM.

The Moz 72 Posted June 23, 2005 heres my thoughts Beerboy QB: Donovan McNabb, Joey Harrington, Jeff Garcia, A.J. Feely RB: Shaun Alexander, Ahman Green, Chris Brown, Dorsey Levens, Antowain Smith, Tony Fisher, Troy Fleming, Maurice Morris, Ciatrick Fason, Brandon Jacobs WR: Joe Horn, Michael Clayton, Donald Driver, Brandon Stokely, Keenan McCardell, Ernest Wilford, Bryant Johnson, Arnaz Battle TE: Randy McMichael, Jermaine Wiggins K: Ryan Longwell, Steve Christie DEF: Atlanta Falcons, New York Jets Solid as steel at every postion ! Though Much will depend on Brown making a come back and Is Ahman on the decline ? He is lock shot for the playoffs and contender for the title ! BigPhatty QB: Kerry Collins, Brian Griese, Vinny Testaverde RB: Priest Holmes, Thomas Jones, Amos Zereoue, Derrick Blaylock, Sammy Morris, Tyrone Wheatley, Charlie Garner, Anthony Thomas, Jamal Robertson, Verron Haynes, Justin Fargas, Cedric Cobbs WR: Hines Ward, Brandon Lloyd, Amani Toomer, Marty Booker, Jerome Pathon, Bobby Engram, Sammy Parker TE: Eric Johnson K: Phil Dawson DEF: Buffalo Bills, Tampa Bay Buccaneers I would like to say something nice here but he only has 1 RB and he is 32 years old. He honestly only has 1 WR worth a lick IMO unless B. lloyd steps up. I cannot see how he makes the playoffs unless Priest goes 2003 on the league ! Chicken Capital USA QB: Matt Hasselbeck, Ben Roethlisberger, Kurt Warner, Aaron Rodgers RB: Ronnie Brown, Cedric Benson, Warrick Dunn, T.J. Duckett, Jerome Bettis, Stephen Davis, Ricky Williams, Nick Goings, Damien Nash WR: Darrell Jackson, Deion Branch, Drew Bennett, Charles Rogers, Troy Williamson, Reggie Williams, Greg Lewis TE: Bubba Franks, Heath Miller K: Mike Vanderjagt, Mike Nugent DEF: Jacksonville Jaguars, Philadelphia Eagles Decent at pretty much all postions yet not great at any one postion. If Brown and Benson come inot there own he makes a charge in 06. Demolition QB: Tom Brady, Aaron Brooks, Drew Brees, Phillip Rivers RB: Curtis Martin, Kevan Barlow, Maurice Clarett, Kevin Faulk, Correll Buckhalter, Michael Turner, Ryan Moats, Marion Barber III, Cedric Houston WR: Roy Williams, Isaac Bruce, Laverneus Coles, Steve Smith, Eric Moulds, Robert Ferguson, Koren Robinson, Darius Watts, Bernard Berrian, Kevin Curtis, David Terrell TE: Antonio Gates, Boo Williams, Ben Watson K: Jason Elam, Jason Hanson DEF: Pittsburgh Steelers, Carolina Panthers This is the team that almost was but traded themselves out of contention. They had a great nucleaus that might of developed and got in return and old 33 year old RB in C. Martin ( 32 now ) - Capn MIGHT win enough to get in th eplayoffs - But I just can't see him going much farther. Horny Toads QB: Peyton Manning, Carson Palmer, Kyle Boller, Andrew Walter RB: Edgerrin James, Jamal Lewis, Domanick Davis, Carnell Williams, Chester Taylor, Vernand Morency WR: Terrell Owens, Javon Walker, Nate Burleson, Larry Fitzgerald, Antwaan Randle El, Cedrick Wilson, Peerless Price, Reche Caldwell, Vincent Jackson TE: Jeremy Shockey, Alge Crumpler K: Adam Vinatieri, Josh Brown DEF: Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Seattle Seahawks GUILTY GUILTY GULTY of all counts of raping and pillaging the league to collect one of the best Dynasty teams i ever heard of ! Guilty Guilty of brain wasshing Brain and Captain only to have your filthy way with them then rob them of there best players Guilty Guilty Guilty I say ! In some states this line up would be illeagal ! No weakness and he may lose becasue the playoffs are a toss up and luck play a big part but he should roll over what seems to be a 2 team division ! Reluctant Prophets QB: Jake Plummer, Chad Pennington, Drew Henson RB: Duce Staley, Deshaun Foster, Travis Henry, Eric Shelton, Michael Pittman, Troy Hambrick, Greg Jones, Michael Cloud, Jarrett Payton WR: Chris Chambers, Justin McCareins, Antonio Bryant, Clarence Moore, Freddie Mitchell, Michael Jenkins, Quincy Morgan TE: Daniel Graham, Kellen Winslow, Courtney Anderson K: Doug Brien DEF: Denver Broncos Talk about giving up your whole team for 2 marginal RB's. I actually am Pulling for ole Dr. O ! It will take a miracle for him to win a title with that team But I do wish him the best of luck in winnng 3 games  Shox QB: Daunte Culpepper, Alex Smith, Rex Grossman, Patrick Ramsey, Chris Simms, Josh McCown, David Garrard RB: Julius Jones, Stephen Jackson, Tatum Bell, Marshall Faulk, J.J. Arrington, Dominic Rhodes, Tony Hollings WR: Chad Johnson, Plaxico Burress, Derrick Mason, Lee Evans, Mike Williams, Andre Davis, Rod Gardner, Peter Warrick, David Patten, Ronald Curry, Doug Gabriel, Derrick Armstrong, Mark Bradley, Chris Henry TE: Tony Gonzalez, Ben Troupe K: Kris Brown DEF: Cincinnati Bengals Shox is most improved but could have been even better if not for some trades he made ! If the young players he has play to form he could be a contending franchise and will contend this year Singman QB: Marc Bulger, Eli Manning, Tim Rattay, Ken Dorsey, Jonathan Quinn, Adrian McPherson RB: Fred Taylor, Lee Suggs, Reuben Droughns, William Green, Marcel Shipp, Josh Scobey, LaBrandon Toefield, Eddie George, Emmitt Smith, Alvin Pearman WR: Keyshawn Johnson, Anquan Boldin, Jimmy Smith, David Givens, Jerry Porter, Ashley Lelie, Fred Gibson TE: Dallas Clark, Freddie Jones K: Jeff Wilkins DEF: New England Patriots, New York Giants Steve won 2 years ago and I hope that feeling lasts a long time becasue unless somehow Suggs becomes the second coming and F. Taylor plays of old - I can't see Singman winning more than 5 games with that line up and that might be stretching it -- but stranger things have happened. I do think he can make 3rd place in his division and maybe that gets him in the playoffs like he almost snuck inot last year The Big Show QB: Trent Green, Byron Leftwich, Drew Bledsoe, J.P. Losman RB: Kevin Jones, Lamont Jordan, Michael Bennett, Mewelde Moore, Frank Gore, Najeh Davenport, Brock Forsey, Jonathan Wells, Mike Alstott WR: Randy Moss, Andre Johnson, Donte Stallworth, Tyrone Calico, Wilbur McMillen Jr., Braylon Edwards, Matt Jones, Reggie Brown TE: L.J. Smith, Jerramy Stevens, Alex Smith K: David Akers, Jay Feely DEF: Oakland Raiders, New Orleans Saints A team i had going to the playoffs before they made the head scratching trade. With Moss you never know and with Jones , Bennett , and Jordan they defnitley have a shot at the playoffs this year I just think they would have had a better shot with Caddy williams. Titans QB: Brett Favre, Jake Delhomme RB: Deuce McAllister, Willis McGahee, Rudi Johnson, Brad Hoover, Ron Dayne, Chris Perry, Jesse Chatman, Brandon Bennett WR: Marvin Harrison, Muhsin Muhammad, Eddie Kennison, Marcus Robinson, Ike Hilliard, Joey Galloway, Kelley Washington TE: Todd Heap, Marcus Pollard, Chris Baker, Chris Cooley K: Sebastian Janikowski, Martin Gramatica, Morten Andersen, Jeff Reed DEF: Washington Redskins, Minnesota Vikings My team -- solid at all positions but not incredibly deep - however not exactly baron of bench talent either. Their are several team I may be looking up at though but I still think a 9 win season is very possible. TooEZ QB: David Carr, Steve McNair RB: LaDainian Tomlinson, Tiki Barber, Corey Dillon, Lamar Gordon, Aaron Stecker, Shawn Bryson, Terry Jackson, Darren Sproles WR: Torry Holt, Rod Smith, Santana Moss, Corey Bradford, Brian Finneran, David Boston, Johnnie Morton, Jabar Gaffney, Devery Henderson, Mark Clayton, Justin Gage TE: Jason Witten, Jeb Putzier K: Matt Stover DEF: Miami Dolphins, Arizona Cardinals Rock solid everywhere except maybe not on WR depth. But everyhting else is the roxor. Another tough playoff contender. Uncle Paul QB: Michael Vick, Matt Shaub, Charlie Frye RB: Clinton Portis, Brian Westbrook, Larry Johnson, Quentin Griffin, Moe Williams, Ladell Betts, Musa Smith, Justin Griffith, Reno Mahe WR: Reggie Wayne, Keary Colbert, Rashaun Woods, Ricky Proehl, Josh Reed, Randy Hymes, Roddy White TE: Doug Jolley, Chad Lewis K: Nate Kaeding, Shane Graham DEF: Baltimore Ravens, St. Louis Rams Making strong strides and light years from the cellar he was in 2 years ago -- Playoff likley out of the question this year - a possible 06 playoff run in the future. Johnson was not a great trade for you and I thought you were better off trading for a lesser known but still solid WR. Edge oin you team would have IMO made you equal with or just a little behind MVP. Granted I still think you have a great team though and should IMO win out division. I figured this was the deal which was being questioned and it is a legit arrgument. I think when you factor in I received Johnson and Mike Williams for Edge and my 2nd round pick the deal makes me better long term. I also knew I would at least get JJ Arrington to add depth back to my RB position. Yes Edge would have made my RB position stronger, but I think getting CJ and Williams makes my team stronger and deeper, especially looking ahead for the next 2-3 years.
