Wuerffel for MVP 0 Posted May 21, 2003 Any GM who has the #1 pick MUST take Lebron James. Think about it. Even if Carmello Anthony is the better player, you have to take James: 1. HE COULD BE THE NEXT KOBE/MCGRADY/ETC. 2. If you take Carmello #1 and he busts, you're fired. If you take Lebron and he busts, you might still be around (since EVERYONE thought he'd be a stud). 3. Lebron will bring the fans. Sad to say but alot of people have never heard of Carmello Anthony. Lebron James is becoming a household name, especially in Ohio. This is why I think the #2 pick is the best pick in the draft this year. No pressure and you get whichever of the two (or 3 if you like foreignors) studs falls to you. GameDay Guru 1 Posted May 21, 2003 I like that guy from Yugoslavia, but I completely agree Lebron needs to be drafted first. Mostly as you said, he comes with such a huge amount of hype he will sell tickets, which a team like Cleveland needs.
