Echo52 0 Posted October 26, 2005 http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/3937/news Oct 25 Bob Raismann, of the New York Daily News, reports Fox Sports' NFL insider Jay Glazer raised a concern Sunday, Oct. 23, that New York Giants RB Tiki Barber's lack of yardage could be tied to his contract. "If he (Barber) doesn't rush for a certain number of yards this year, then his salary next year will drop anywhere from $500,000 to $1.2 million," Glazer said on Fox's "NFL Sunday." Glazer said Barber's contract has a similar clause for 2006. "If Tiki fails to reach 900-1,250 yards he would have to give the Giants back anywhere from $800,000 to $1.5 million," Glazer added. It is unclear if the Giants are keeping the ball out of Barber's hands to cut his salary. Very interesting, could be VERY true! They better start giving him the damn ball
yanko 11 Posted October 26, 2005 900-1250 yards? That would be pretty tough to prevent him from reaching that without benching him. This seems like a non-story to me.
Bill E. 703 Posted October 26, 2005 I would almost buy this if they were 0-7 and they decide to limit him the rest of the year. With the year they are having they will do what they think will help them win. they will not risk losing a game and missing the playoffs or a home game to save 500K next year.
