Ramsey as the backup to vick could be promising. All it takes is about 5 more of Vicks passes 10 yards too high and here comes Ramsey! Very interesting :bench:

Ramsey is no more accurate than Vick, which is why he never held down the starting QB job in Washington.

I think the Jets would have to throw in something else. Why would Atlanta do this? They don't want to trade Shaub. If you take the 2 qb's straight up, it's Abraham for the #2 pick. He isn't worth the #2 overall draft pick.

Jets | Team can look at other positions in the first-round of the NFL Draft

Fri, 17 Mar 2006 22:31:13 -0800

Dave Hutchinson, of the Star-Ledger, reports the acquisition of QB Patrick Ramsey by the New York Jets Friday, March 17, means it's almost certain the Jets will not use their first-round pick (fourth overall) on a quarterback in the April NFL Draft. Now, they'll likely target Virginia OT D'Brickashaw Ferguson or North Carolina State DE Mario Williams.

The signing of Ramsey gives the Jets alot more options then when they were entirely Qb strapped. The trade rumor as stated in this thread. Or just dealing Abraham outright and drafting a highly touted lineman as this report implies. The Jets now have alot more flexablity now and are in a much better position for FA dealing and drafting as before they were dealing from a position of obvious weakness.

I think the Falcons should deal Vick for a boatload of players and elevate Shaub to starter.

Only in their dreams could they get a boatload of players unless you mean scrub backups. Vick is horrible and that is why they keep schaub around. Eventually they will have to put him in and toss Vick in the garbage can where he belongs.

Maybe I'm completely off and missing some joke, but I don't think its means the #2 overall pick, the Saints have that. The falcons would be giving up their 2nd round pick, which would be the 47th pick. Abraham is definetly worth that.

Wow kid, youre not too bright eh? I may be wrong but I dont think the Falcons have the #2 overall pick to trade.

Yeah, Ramsey is the answer.

The Redskins never really built around Ramsay and it's tough to have any continuity when the owner changes coaches every year or 2, with the exception of Gibbs. I believe he never got enough time in a system to really get comfortable and if given a shot with the Jets, who knows, he could blossom into a solid starting QB.

Not to mention Spurrier never wanted Ramsey and I believe wanted to prove to Dan Snyder that he was right in his assessment of PR not being a starter in the NFL. The verdict is still out on PR. I would like to see him behind a O-line that actually gives him a little time to throw.

I didn't see who reported this on the Jets board, but the guy on the Falcons board has no credibility. He basically signed up and posted this rumor in all CAPS.

That said, I don't think it's a bad option for either team. The Jets get a QB with NFL experience who I think could be at the least Jay Cutler's equal. They also get a mid-2nd rounder.

The Falcons get a DE to run with Pat Kerney. We've already addressed the safety spot with Milloy. We'll still have a pick at 15 to go after a CB or OL.

Here's the problem. I have read that the Falcons possibly declined an offer that sent Schau straight up there for Abraham. If they did that, it seems unlikely they'll do the same deal plus give a 2nd for Ramsey.
